Hi gals, thought I would post my story in Dr Traynor’s group too and share this amazing experience with you all!
So I had been thinking about getting a boob job for a while. Had my first meeting with my PC in September, decided on Dr Traynor straight away after hearing about his amaaazing reputation and met him in October at Manchester.
As you all know he’s a man of few words but he’s absolutely fab. Really direct and to the point which is exactly what you want in this sort of situation, no bullsh**
Had my pre-op on December 23rd I think it was? Which all went fine, just had blood pressure taken, MRSA swabs etc. She advised me to cut down smoking although I only smoke 2/3 a day but quite a fair few when I’ve had some drinks. So stopped altogether on Jan 1 and I don’t think I’ll go back to be honest!
Well the day finally came yesterday (Jan 12th) it was so strange because I wasn’t nervous in the slightest, not even when I was walking to theatre! I thought I’d be an absolute wreck!
My mum and I left my house at 7.15 and got there just in time at 8.30am. I wore a tracksuit with UGGs and a zip up top. Took with me my slippers, dressing gown, snacks, magazines, phone, two sports bras (wasn’t sure on size).
The hospital is SO cute, it’s like a little cottage and the staff were absolutely amazing! So friendly, they made me feel right at home and so, so comfortable.
I was shown to my room, number 5, which was lovely. It had a nice comfy bed, TV and en suite. My mum and I got a bit of Lorraine and Jeremy Kyle on (can’t go wrong with Jezza for a giggle!) then the nurse came in and asked me some questions about medical history, allergies, took blood pressure, everything was a-okay thank god.
Then the anaethitist (can’t spell that to save my life) came in. I think his name was Dr Dawood? He was HILARIOUS! Really, really lovely man, very softly spoken and made me laugh so much, put me right at ease because it was the first time I had had GA.
Then the man himself came to see me around 10.15am, what a legend Dr Traynor is!! I’d ordered 300cc and 340cc but we decided on the 300s because I’m only tiny (5ft just about!) and 7 stone 7 so I didn’t want to look out of proportion and top heavy.
He said he was happy with that choice and they’d look good so he drew on me then said I would be in within the hour (I was second) and I STILL wasn’t nervous!!
Couldn’t stop going for a wee though which was a bit embarrassing.
Finally it was my time and the nurse came to get me. I gave my mum a mahooosive hug and walked down to theatre in my slippers, dressing gown, sexy gown, paper knickers and stockings whit woo!
I lay on the bed in the first room and she put the canular? Not sure if that’s the right word but it’s something like that. She put that in my hand first which I thought reaaaaally hurt but only for a few seconds. Then the anaethitist came in and gave me the GA. It was SO weird. He puts it in and then you get a really strange taste in your mouth and then my face felt like it was stinging, not in a painful way though. My last words were, “my nose is itchy and my face is sting…” then I was out like a light!
I woke up and said “BOOBIES” ha ha I was quite excited to see my new assets so had a sneaky peek and nearly started crying I was so happy with them! I told the nurse I was feeling really emotional and thanks so much for looking after me and she had a little chuckle, think she’s used to people acting like they’re drunk and emotional when they wake from the GA! I saw Dr Traynor through the window in the theatre and gave him a little wave.
They wheeled me back into the bedroom and I got back onto my bed. My mum came back in from the dayroom and gave me a big hug and a sneaky peek at my boobs, we both agreed they looked FAB!
I felt fine when I came around, absolutely no pain and didn’t feel sick at all. I was shaking a bit but had some toast and strawberry jam and a cup o’ tea and that did the trick, was absolutely fine then and the toast was delicious!
I got up to go for a wee and was a little bit shaky but fine.
The rest is a bit of a blur but I remember the nurses coming in to take my blood pressure every half hour, the on-site doctor who was so sweet came in to check on me and then finally as I was leaving, boobie god Dr Traynor! He had a little look and said I’d be happy with them, they look good and said he’d see me in a few weeks, shook my hand and was on his way. Love him!
I got dressed, the nurse put my sports bra on (34D – I used to be a 32B) and went for a little walk around the corner, saw another boobie buddy gal who I think was called Holly? She seemed to be doing fine too which was good!
Then the nurse gave me my painkillers, antibiotics and a hug and I was off!
Drove home with a small cushion between my boobs and the seatbelt and was fine, just kept driving my mum mad telling her to be careful all the time ha ha! Got home in about an hour, had some dinner and some sweets then a nap.
I slept absolutely fine with my V Pillow propping me up and set my alarm every four hours for my painkillers to keep on top of them.
Woke up today at about 9am feeling absolutely on top of the world! Can’t stop smiling! Haven’t had any pain today, just a bit of a dull ache really, nothing too traumatic! Hope it stays like this.
MYA aftercare has been superb so far, got a lovely phonecall off my PC Lauren Harris, she is fab!
All I can say girls is just enjoy your day! It goes so quickly and it’s just so exciting! Sorry for the rant just wanted to include everything, hope this helps any pre-oppers! Feel free to add/message any questions, Danni xxx
