Here’s my story 🙂
Arrived at BMI Ross Hall Hospital at 8:30am, went through the paperwork and by 8:45 I was shown to my private room.. Room 100 in the Argyle Suite, was lovely and had a beautiful view of a park and a pond 🙂
My first meeting with a nurse was Annette, she was small and cute with a lisp but she was soo nice. She kept coming in through out the day to check my blood pressure and what not.. The next nurse Jean went through more paperwork with me and told me I’d be seen to theatre by 11am. By half 10 I was in my sexy stockings and hospital gown.. Lovely combo there! Looked ridiculous haha. So sat with my mum watching tv and talking away.. Then comes the porter through my door.. Was time to go (aaah) I was excited! Gave my mum a cuddle/kiss and told her I love her (surprisingly she didn’t cry) but she did say she didn’t want to leave me (awww) and I was wheeled down… I was so excited by the time I got downstairs and was really chirpy! With Annette by my side all the way down I met Nurse Annalese ( an American from New York) absolutely loved her accent! Then after going through questions with her I was being wheeled between two sets of doors were Andrew Hart drew on me, and I got the General Anaesthetic (hated that wee scratchy needle) the guy and woman there were making me laugh when they were giving me the GA and I felt it in my mouth so I shut my mouth and that was last thing I remember.. Knocked out so quick!!
I woke up at 12:50pm I think and was quite groggy so nurse gave me some morphine..I was just staring round at other people in the recovery room and they all had tubes down there throats (yuck).. Eventually I got to go to my room after half 1, can’t remember exact time but I was given more morphine (6MG in total!!) Even my nurses from upstairs said they gave me far too much for me only being small! I tried to have a sleep but every noise woke me up and I was sick every time I done big movements like them walking me round my room.. They tried to give me some toast and tea, I drank the tea but couldn’t manage to swallow my toast and I had no idea why!.. Till they told me I had a tube down my throat too.. Thank god I was asleep when they removed it!! I didn’t get to go home till 7:55pm cause of sickness so they’d given me an anti sickness tablet..Refused to go in the lift so walked downstairs with Annette and my parents and said our goodbyes.. Never felt so drunk in my life from all the drugs haha!! Was glad to be getting home! The surgeon had told my mum while I was in recovery I’m a DD.. Kind of guessed I was bigger when the nurse Jean put my Dsports bra on and it was far too tight! Absolutely love my boobs!! So does my sisters since they got to see them haha.. Couldn’t be happier! But this sleeping sat up malarky is no fun!! I’ll be adding some photo’s soon so friends can see..
