Hi Dawn, I had full tummy tuck on 26th May with Mr Frati, I’m now nearly 7 wks post-op & very pleased with the results. The scar is very neat & belly buttons getting smaller, initially it will look quite big & the swelling can b a lot but the garment really helps I’m still wearing mine. The 1st wk I found the most uncomfortable you don’t realise how much you use your stomach muscles until the hurt. Try & stand up straight as much as possible & have plenty of pillows. Please feel free to message me if you want to know more, I was same couldn’t find anyone on here that had, had a tummy tuck. Hope all goes well Paula x
Thank you Paula, your message has made me feel so much calmer now!! I couldn’t find anyone and it was really making me nervous that Mr Frati only really did boob jobs! When did you go back to work? I am only taking a week off as I cant afford to take off any longer x
Hi Dawn, I don’t think you’ll find a week will be long enough. I took 3 weeks off, of course it does depend on what job you do, omen involves very long hours & lots of driving. I didn’t drive for 2 weeks, I really don’t think I would of been ready to go back after a week. You probably need to consider taking minimum of 2 weeks off honestly you’ll need it. But trust me it’ll be worth it in the end I’m loving my new tummy & the fact I can sit down without having the extra skin on my lap, I can’t wait for my holiday in Sept it’ll be the first time I’ve felt confident about wearing a bikini. Mr Frati will do a great job, just don’t be to shocked initially at the scar, mines looking really good now after 7 weeks still little red but not a lot. I’d definitely recommend using bio oil after about 4 weeks twice a day. Do you go to the Bristol clinic? Was thinking if you do they can always put in touch with me via phone if you want to chat anything else through. Let me know how it all goes or if you need anything else x
Hi Paula,
I work in an office so I am hoping it should be OK for after a week as I sit down all day (my boss is actually a Doctor so I am sure he will keep an eye on me!). I am having my surgery done in London on 10th Aug. I will definitely take it easy though if you are saying you don’t think you could have gone back after a week :(. So glad you are happy with your tummy, I have wanted this surgery for nearly 5 years so can’t wait to get it over and done with now (i had my pre-op on Saturday) and its a weight off my shoulders hearing that someone else is happy with the surgeon x
Hi Dawn, that’s great if your boss is a doctor. I didn’t tell anyone at work exactly what I had done, I didn’t want anyone else to know. I know how you feel I so wish I’d done it years ago I just always thought it was more for celebs where as nowadays so many people are having cosmetic surgery. Really hope all goes well for you, just remember the first time you see your tummy it’ll look bit like Frankenstein with all staples & blood but after few weeks it’s surprising how much it improves. I’ve taken regular photos so I can see the difference, which really helps. I didn’t take my garment off at all for the first week either & wore it day & night for nearly 7 weeks I’ve only left it off now for week it felt really strange without it on it’s surprising how much support it gives you. Just make sure you rest as much as possible that week your off. Good luck, let me know how you get on xx
