I had mine done at the London Fitzroy and the nurses were amazing. Yes I had a lot of swelling and still get slight swelling now 6months on. The swelling is still bad when due on.

The pain is fine, it’s more uncomfortable. I was able to come off all pain meds after 4days.

It’s the best decision I have ever made. I had a two night stay as advised by the surgeon. I would say this is a must to rest fully and be treated with pain meds etc, nurses are great too.
