Not sure if it’s helpful but when my surgery got changed the company cover the expenses I incurred as a result I.e hotel and trains

I was allowed to shower the day after the op I’m not with MYA so maybe different surgeons have different rules

Hi I’m in a similar position to you – I have a congenital heart defect and was worried I wouldn’t be able to have surgery. I spoke to my consultant before booking any consultations and they said I would be fine to have surgery and that if it was required they would right a letter stating I was healthy and able to have surgery – maybe your doctors…[Read more]

Hi all I’m not sure if this is allowed on a MYA forum but I noticed some people have had there BA with companies other than MYA I was just wondering who people went with and what there experience was. I am in the process of researching and want to have a consultation with a couple of companies to make sure I make the right decision.

Hi I am currently researching a BA and I was wondering how people chose which company and which surgeon to use. It is a lot of money and can only afford to do it once so need to get it right!
