Portable Water Filter for Survival

I’ve had this Personal water filter in my Chevy since last January and completely forgot about it until we went camping last weekend. When it comes to tools like this, I usually get it for emergencies, but it came in very crucial after a camping “Oops”. One of my girlfriend’s cousins got the drinking water confused and used it as the shower water. By day 2 we had to resort to boiling the water for drinking.

Thankfully there was a creek nearby and we were able to refill and boil often. That’s when I remembered I had the portable water purifier in my ride, and gave it a whirl. I was able to drink straight from the creek without issues, but it worked best sitting in my water canister. It takes a few seconds for the water to soak into the filter, but once it’s saturated you can take some big gulps. I’m not sure if I would try this in the Ganges, but it worked like a for me, and I didn’t get the squirts or anything.
