I didnt get a call from the nurse day before my op, mya didnt call back as I wanted to check what time to get to hospital. As I was told my op was 11.15 I got to the hospital just after 8.30am, the staff were really nice, I sat in waiting area for someone to come down and show me my room. The nurse said I was very early. I was ment to get to hospital at 11.15 but they said it was ok, it has happened a few times with mya. I was booked in at 12. I stopped drinking at 11am as I fort my op would be about 1 as they say its normally two hours after you ment to get to hospital. It wasnt till 3pm that i found out my real op was booked 2.30pm and thats when they told me I still had another woman in front to go and there manager had rang mya to moan nd charge them 400pound as I would now have to stay the night. I finally went down 5.15pm and was back in my room 7.15pm with drains. I ws very sore and my partner had to leave once I was out to pick our daughter up. Mya havent even called me yet in order to book my 7day post op. I am currently writing a letter about it. lets just say the staff were saying mya have done this before and need to sort out there times as one woman waited 4hours after her op time and also ment she had to stay, so three day cases ended up being night stays and the hospital had to order another nurse in as they did not expect us. Other than mya big fuck up, op went fine. They check your blood pressure every 30min then if seems ok every hour. I hd my first bit of food at 9.30pm it was chicken sandwich, soup, jelly and coffee. My last check up was 2am when i was given 2codine to help me sleep. It lasted till 5.30am then I woke up in alot of pain. meds were given 7am and breakfast was just after 8am. Surgoen was ment to be there at 9am but hadnt turned up at 9.30 so the head nurse took both my drains out. Surgoen came just after 10am had a quick touch and look then went. I was given paperwork and meds from head nurse then i was aloud to leave at 11am. Since then ive been on 2x 500mg paracetamol, 1x 400mg ibuproffn, 1 co-amoxiclav and 2x 30mg codeine phosphate 3times a day. All I will say is so much for day cases only aloud if they have a morning op. 2.30pm would have ment i would have left the hospital earliest 1am. as drains have to be in 6-8hours after op!!!
