Why did you want the procedure? |
For years I had been unhappy and lacked confidence and had always thought that breast enlargement would work for me to boost my confidence and make me happy.
I had spoken to my boyfriend about a BA and he said that he would support and help me no matter what I decided to do. We then looked into different company’s and I chose to book my first consultation with MYA

Why did you choose MYA? |
I looked at a few different websites and companies I felt that MYAs website and forums were most helpful and informative. I felt that they would offer great care and advice.

How was your consultation? |
My first consultation wasn’t what I expected, I thought it would have been discussing the sizes I wanted and what I could have and all the conditions and procedures ect but it was just to inform me what the conditions were and how they go about the procedures and not all the rest.
My surgeon consultation was as I thought, it still shocked me when Dr Traynor said “sit on the bed and top and bra off” – despite me sitting there thinking how long is it going to be before I’m half naked!
Dr Traynor was great and I felt so at ease with his opinion.

How was the day of your procedure? |
SO FAST!
I couldn’t believe the speed of my operation day!
I was expecting to be waiting and waiting for ages to be taken to surgery but it was the complete opposite. My admission time was 2pm but I arrived at 1.40pm due to good traffic. I was in my room by 1.50pm and as soon as a nurse had been in to admit me my boyfriend was then allowed to come into the room, at 2.10pm. By 2.30pm I’d done my sample for the pregnancy test and the anesthetist had been in and explained what would happen next. A few minutes later Dr Traynor had come in the draw on me and the anesthetist came back in with another nurse to take me down to theatre so there were 5 of us in my room all having a casual conversation! I was in theatre by 2.45pm.
It was about 3.40 when I was in recovery, my boyfriend saw Dr Traynor back in his regular clothes and ready to leave and he had told Josh that everything had gone well and I was doing fine. I remember the nurse waking me up and me saying “I’m starving, when do I get my cheese sandwich?” then after her reply telling her that I was going back to sleep for a bit.
Next thing I knew I was back in my room and drinking water awaiting my sandwich (which actually tasted amazing…and not just because I was so hungry).
The nurse came in every half hour (felt like she was coming in every few minutes) to check my blood pressure. It was 7pm when the nurse came back in and said I was fine to go home. So off we went!!

How was your recovery? |
I was in much less pain that I expected to be. As I was getting ready to leave the hospital I started to feel the aches and pains, I needed help to get to my leggings, socks and ugg boots on and couldn’t open doors in the hospital, car or house. I had 2 ice packs that I kept on for the majority of the day (when I was awake anyway) so they helped a bit. I kept getting stuck on my sofa because I couldn’t pull myself forward to get up out of the corner. I was so tired all the time because of the anesthetic for the first 5 days or so and really struggled to stay awake for more than a couple of hours at a time.
