    Seeing as there is a boob bible I thought we should start one for noses. Keeping it just information and tips rather than questions, then anyone new can refer to ‘the bible’ as an instant source of info. Please will everyone post whatever you know now and would have liked to have known before. Thanks xxxx

    What to take to hospital-

    V-Pillow (you’ll wonder why you never got one before);
    pjs;
    Button/zip up top for next day (journey home;
    Instant ice packs (for journey home);
    Small bottle of water that can be refilled.

    What to have at home-

    More icepacks
    arnicare cream
    Vitamins
    lots of comfy pjs ready
    smoothies and soups (I can’t eat properly- 4 days post op)
    lip balm (lips are so dry from breathing through mouth)
    Someone who can pick up stuff for you if you don’t want to go out.
    Lots of things to do at home (work/DVDs/books etc.)

    Tip for sleeping-

    Put a section of your sofa (one of the back bits) against your headboard to create a slope. Works really well at keeping your head elevated, esp. when you are also using your v-pillow.

    Anyway, if I think of anything else i will add. As some of your guys are further on in the process you will probably have more helpful tips so please add guys

    Well I shall definitely be bringing my lap top for logging my experience to all of my MYA friends, some sweets and bits to munch on, I’m normally quite good with what I eat but hey, we are all going to be going through a lot I figure what the hey!! Water and Juices…LOTS OF VIT C to aid healing… Slippers, and you’ll probably be given surgical stockings to wear check with you PC or nurse about

    Try downloading a free version of this software so you too can design your own perfect nose. I tried it and it’s brilliant!!! (As recommended by Meg thanks hun!x) You can then bring your art work in to show your surgeon exactly what you want xxx

    Cotton buds to help you put Arnica cream on, you want to be as gentle as possible. Also be cautious what food you order (you order before the op) as you will be hungry but they don’t warn you that you might not be able to swallow solid food! Think Meg said she was fine on this but I couldn’t swallow the pork stir-fry which I thought sounded fit before the op. Luckily they brought me soup and icecream instead (I didn’t ask they just were really nice). The icecream felt amazing on my throat- would recommend!! Yeah the virtual plastic surgery Meg recommended was amazing- down load for definite!xxx
