1 week to go and now the nerves are kicking in…. HELP!!! Started by: Kelbel

    Hi All,

    So this time next week I’ll be at Highgate ready for my op…. I’ve been so excited about it and still am but I’ve woke up this morning feeling really nervous….
    I’ve still not had my pre op so maybe will feel better after that but as I’ve never had an operation I’m scared about the GA….

    Any tips or advice would be great girlies 🙂

    Also anyone else in next Tuesday at Highgate?

    Hey hun, I was the same I got so stressed my period came on! Haha.
    Once you’re in the hospital is recommend taking a good book that will help take your mind off it and the time will pass faster.
    I was petrified of the GA. When I went to the surgery room to have the GA I was shaking like a leaf but it’s honestly fine, for me when they put it in the cannula (thing in your hand) it made all my body ache but within 30 seconds I was gone. Felt like a blink and it was all done and being put back in bed! Haha.
    They can give you more painkillers if you need them so just let them know if you do.

    Thanks so much hun 🙂 Its good to know its not just me and other ladies are or were nervous beforehand. I’m very excited and cant wait now. My sister had her’s done last month so that helps knowing her’s went so well 🙂

    Yeah I was a nervous wreck haha. It’s good you’ve got someone whose has it done but remember we all feel different xx

    Kelbel. Ull b fine. Im gettin a little nervous now its gettin closer but excitement takes over lol!!!! Ull wake up and wonder y u have been so stressed. We will prob c eachother hun. Hope it all goes well:) x

    Hi lovely i had my op yesterday and was such a wreck! 3 days before i nearly pulled out of my op! On the day i was waiting from my admission time of 9 and didnt go in until after 12! I was so scared when i went down for my Ga. the needle didnt hurt but the anaesthetic did! The good thing is its so strong i was out within seconds!

    You will be fine and will be so happy when its all done 🙂 xxx

    Thanks ladies 🙂 I’m so excited! I had a dream I had it done last night… it felt so real until I woke up with saggy boobies!!!
    I think it’s more the fact that I havent had a GA before, however my best friends husband is an anesthetist and he made me feel much better. It also helps hearing everyones stories here and knowing your not going through it alone!
