1WPO strapping off. There were tears

So I’m 1WPO now and finally had my strapping off today. I didn’t really have any problems with my strapping other than it being uncomfortable. But today when I was getting ready I noticed under my left armpit was really sore. I put this down to strapping just rubbing and my macom also coming up under my armpit.
Anywho. Had my strapping off (did have to take some deep breaths as my right nipple is crazily sensitive, but my left is numb ha) everything looks good, nurse happy with my incisions, bruising isn’t that bad, except to the sides of my boobs where my drains where. And I have some marks there too.
On my left side where it was hurting, once the strapping was off and air was at it, my god it was stinging (it’s like it’s rubbed and rubbed and the first layer of skin has come off).
I was pretty red raw after having the strapping removed, but it’s so sticky and I must just have sensitive skin as well.

I saw my boobs today for the first time, and I’m actually pleased with how they look so far. My nipples aren’t to ‘outwards’ which is what I was worried about, and tbh I just felt a bit emotional but I am pleased!
I got home and had a shower, I would say it was amazing, but because my skin was so sore from the strapping, I was crying in pain instead. It felt like washing sunburn. But now I feel much better for it. I used sanex 0% body wash as suggested by my nurse.
I’ve since developed a bit of a spotty rash, but my nurse said if this happens it’s very normal, you’ve been under strapping for a week, and it will settle.

Overall, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster and it’s only been a week, but I am happy, despite the tears today.

They look gorgeous Hun 🙂 you must be really pleased.. only 1 week post op! Hope the rest of your recovery goes well. I think I’ll cry Monday too! Praying it goes well and remembering to try stay patient if they don’t. Well done chick xx

Hey Charlotte! Thanks! Honestly it was so many different emotions at one point. I am pleased with them so far though. Now for them to drop and fluff! Haha. That’s where my patience needs to come in! Ha good luck and hope everything is going well for you! X

Thanks Charlotte! I’m sure all will be well. Just struggling to find some more post op bras the ones suggested in Asda don’t have a size that will be fit me in store or online ???? Matalan are the same. So gonna have to make a trip to lakeside again today to search in marks and spencer ???? Best of luck with surgery next week Charlotte xx
