I found this forum extremely helpful when researching for a BA, so I thought I would share my experience.
I had my surgery Thursday 11th Oct – 350 & 400 CC High profile.
I was so scared about the whole day in general, from the anaesthetic to not knowing what the pain would be like when I woke up. I started getting really nervous once I was laid on the operating table but it was nice and warm they put a blanket on me etc, the nurse held my hand right up until I fell asleep and I honestly don’t even remember falling asleep. The next thing I knew I was awake in recovery but was SO confused. I asked the nurse is it done? I have boobs? and she reassured me, everything went well and I could go and see my mum in my room soon. I woke up in no pain at all?! I’ve seen a lot of people saying they felt sick when they woke up or had a sore throat but I had neither of these which I was thankful for. Once I was back in my room I had small sips of water and lunch 45 min later. The nurses kept checking up on me, checking blood pressure etc. I also had drains which were taken out at the end of the day (this didn’t hurt at all it just felt weird af).
First day post op I was feeling quite sore (could defo tell the anaesthetic had worn off) and my incisions (under boob) were burning and so itchy. I should also mention I have strapping on for one week so I have not seen my boobs yet or anything! Keep on top of your medication and you should feel okay. I could get around fine but defo take it easy.
Second day post op was similar to day one. I slept all throughout the night and napped twice during the day (these drugs knock you out lol)
Third day (today) has been the worst. I woke up feeling sick and with a migraine. Felt so weak and just all round shit. Called the emergency number and she advised me to stop taking the pain killers and to switch to co-codamol. Which I have done and since took a nap and feeling better. I have this burning sensation in the middle of my chest which is pretty painful but will be worth it right?! I also have not been to the toilet since my op so feeling super bloated.
