My surgery is booked for the 24th jan but I have a weekend away booked and a night out 3 and a half week after. These might seem like stupid questions but will I be ok to go in a hot tub/sauna or not because of my scars? And will I be able to not wear my sports bra for a few hours on a night out ?? Thanks in advance. X

I have mine on the 23rd and was wondering the same thing! I have a night out 17dpo and was wondering if a few hours without sports bra would be ok ???? x

With hot tubs/saunas I think you wouldn’t be advised to do so 3 1/2 weeks after, depending on how fast your incisions heal up- there are SO many waterborn bacteria that would be lurking in water and the risk of infection could be quite high.

With regards to not wearing a sports bra, it’s very much your call- you’ll have the advice of the surgeon/nurse/PC not to remove until 6 weeks, in order to get the best results. Personally I couldn’t risk spending that much money on a procedure and not get the best results possible! HOWEVER, there are many girls who have taken off their sports bras for a few hours for events, and I’m sure that they haven’t compromised their results. Just a case of weighing up any risks against benefit 🙂

Congrats on booking your surgeries huns!! Xx

(And I think there’s been a few links to non-wired supportive bras from places like Ann Summers, that other girls have used on nights out!) xx

@caitlinrose Oh god yeah didn’t even think until after I posed about infections from water and steam room, never mind :/ .. thanks for your help anyway I’m going to order a non wired bra just in case and I will wait and ask when I’ve had surgery and go for a check up to ask and thank you 🙂 x

Definitely no to the sauna and spa your not allowed to even submerge in a bath until 6 weeks post op and the nurse will tell you no way to saunas or steal etc until 6 weeks. After 3 1/2 weeks with regard to your sports bra, i would try and see if you can make an outfit work or try and lower cut supportive soft non wired bra. I only say I wouldn’t go bra lesss or plan to because I totally wouldn’t have felt comfortable to. You may well be ok for a couple of hours your implants won’t drop out haha, but I know I felt really vulnerable still bra less so I would prepare for possibly not wanting to. X

I bought the Ann summers one it’s a nice bra actually but only goes up to DD, which I ordered early like a keen bean and now I measure 32FF so it seriously does not fit me lol. So pleased u managed to rearrange the weekend. Much less to worry about and you can properly enjoy it. Ps if you happen to want that Ann summers bra in 34dd your more than welcome to it lol it’s just sat in drawer!

I asked my surgeon about sauna and steam rooms because I’ve always visited the spa once a month, unfortunately he said no to these for the first 3 months. Also someone mentioned something here about infections from water that’s another thing I haven’t thought of before. You cant be exposed to direct heat until you are almost healed internally otherwise you will get sore, implants take longer than your body to heat but once they do they take longer than your body to cool down so its not advised to expose yourself to that this early on. At the end of the day surgeons have different opinions about different things so it’s better to ask your surgeon about it however the book says no at 3 weeks

Happy to send it to you @jemmao just for the postage costs. That’s the thing it only goes up to DD. I have a friend who works for lepel and she’s given me lots of lovely bits since my op so I have loads of bras now haha but I saw on their website they have quite a few non wired bras in bigger sizes so might be worth having a look at them.
