Right ladies… help please! I have been told to sleep upright- and so have been but it’s sooooo uncomfy and I was just wondering if any of you ladies know when I can sleep normally lying flat on my back?
Also, does anyone know when you are allowed alcohol? Obviously not for 7days due to antibiotics but am I allowed after that?
Sorry for the twenty1 questions but also I know we are meant to wear sports bra all the time but I would really like a break from it- but I’m scared incase it’s bad for them- any advice?
Finally- I’ve been putting bio oil on them but is there anything else I can do to soften then or is it just a waiting game?
Thanks Xx
Hi Laura!
I had enough aswell and after 6 nights I slept flat (well with 3 pillows instead of 10!) it didn’t do me any harm but I suppose it depends on how your recovery is going and whether you want to chance it. With regards to the bra situation , i’ve been tempted to wear just a full support bra but decided to stick with it! Is is just the one sports bra you have? I ‘ve bought 5 now and find that changing them often helps x
Hi Hun, I started laying on my back 1 wk PO. I drank as soon as I finished my anti b’s but haven’t had a big night out yet. I don’t think you’re really supposed to take sports bra off at your stage, unless its just for half hour or so. And I didn’t think you could bio oil on until 6 wks? Xx
Yes I’ve got 6 sports bras and definitely helps having a selection! Primark & asda are great x
Hey hun… Im not sure when they officially say you can lie on your back but I tried about a week post op because I found sleeping upright so uncomfortable but trying to sleep flat was way worse!! Plus mine were under the muscle and trying to get up from sleeping flat without putting my weight on my arms was a big struggle! Any weight on my arms really tugged on my boobs! My boyfriend took to calling me “spaghetti arms” lol. I think it was a couple of weeks before I slept flat.
I also found not wearing a sports bra really uncomfortable – think they tell you to wear it all the time so that you have the support.
I havent put anything at all on my boobs, they started softening from about 3 weeks and a lot softer from 6 weeks!
The best thing to do would be to give your PC a call, Im sure she would be happy to answer all your questions! xxx
Ceri- okay that’s great thank you- ill put up with it a few more days then! Yeah I’ve got my macom and two others so will get a few more-
Danielle- I’m only putting a bit of bio oil on the top- not near the scar- just as the skin is quite tight and don’t want to get stretch marks- that’s alright isn’t it?
I’m not sure Hun. I didn’t think you could put anything around there but I could be wrong!! X
I’m nearly 3 weeks post op & since day 1, i sit for an hour or so with no bra on I just get sick of wearing them, I’m sure an hour out of 24 can’t do much harm. I’ve also been using coco butter on my boobs but not the scars as my skin has gone so dry it’s literally peeling from constantly being in sports bras again if its not going on the scar I don’t think it would cause any harm xx
