Hi everyone, i am not with Mya but having my surgery on Friday, i have been given a 7:15am admission time, does this mean i will be first or is there a chance i could be waiting a while? Trying to sort out childcare for the day x

Well be sure you are covered as my admission time was 10 am I got in dressed for surgery and at the end surgery started at 4 pm so you might wait they said up to 6 h in the email with admission time I think

It’s difficult to say tbh but looks like you may be first. My admission time was 10 am and the nurse from my ward said I’m the 4th on the list. Was taken to the theatre around 12.35.
I would arrange a childcare for the whole day cuz even if you are first, it may take a good couple of hours to get discharged.
    Hope it helps xx

It’s quite likely with such an early admission that you’ll be first on the theatre list. It’s definitely worth arranging childcare for the full day though, everyone reacts differently to anaesthetic no saying how you’ll feel. In most cases surgeons like to see their patients before discharge too so you could be ready to go but just waiting to see the surgeon. Best of luck ?

I also wasn’t with MYA and was given 7.15 as my admission time. When I arrived there was two other girls in reception waiting to go up to the ward. I wasn’t first on my surgeons list, I went down to theatre around 1pm!

I think they normally give two or three girls the same admission slot each day, so with that in mind, having such an early admission time you won’t be too far down the list at all. My admission time was 8am and I was first on the list for that day; I went down to theatre at 9am and was back in my room just after 10am and discharged at 1:30pm. How quickly you recover will determine how soon you can be discharged. If they want to monitor you for any reason afterwards, then you may be required to stay in for a little while longer. For peace of mind, to save you from stressing and to give yourself all the time you need to recover at your own pace, I definitely agree with those saying to arrange childcare for the full day. Good luck for Friday! Not much longer to wait now!

2nd and 3rd day is usually the hardest stage of the whole recovery but after that you’re going to be only better and be able to get back to every day ‘kind of a routine’ ☺️

BTW – looking soo good xx
