Had my op on Monday 24th October… No where near as painful as I thought it would be, I instantly fell in love with them… By the Friday my left one had changed so much already but my right still very swollen, high and hard. By Saturday morning I had to ring emergency helpline and I’m so glad I did! I had to drive to Leeds for an emergency appointment with my surgeon DR Mounir. I thought one was just taking longer than the other to heal, however that’s not the case an I’m going back to theatre tomorrow for more surgery as they think there’s a bleed under my right implant. I’m devastated! So typical this would happen to me! Has this happened to anyone else? Picture attached, can really tell the difference 🙁
Oh Hun – good luck today with the surgery. Hopefully it will all get fixed and the rest of this journey will be smooth sailing. Let us know xx
Aww Hun so sorry to hear that 🙁
Hope surgery goes ok & you manage to sort it out xxx
Thinking of u, well spotted a lot of us probably would of just left it…. u must of been in a lot of pain. Hope today goes well and your recovery is quick xxxxxxxxxxxx
That’s the thing though I’m not really in any pain at all, by day 3 I was fine I even stopped taking pain killers by then my recovery has been so much better than I thought and then this, my right side just feels achy and bruised, my friends said to just wait as one maybe faster than the other in recovering but I’m so glad I rang just to make sure. Hoping it is only and bleed an can be sorted quickly. He reassured me it’s a 5 minute operation, but it’s the getting put to sleep part that terrifies me the most! 🙁
Thanks girls, will update you all later xx
Awww good luck Abbie, you’ve been put to sleep once, you can do it again! Let us know how you get on! Xx
Wishing you lots of luck and hope the rest of your journey is smooth xx
Oh so sorry to hear this has happened to you! 🙁 my surgeon did pre warn me about this complication in my consultation, but he said it’s a simple procedure to rectify so I’m sure you’ll be just fine. Hope all goes well for you today and let us know how you get on. On another note, your other boob looks so good for how soon post op you are!! 🙂 xxx
Hope it gets sorted soon and thanks so much for sharing the image was really brave of u and decent to do tht cos ur helping far more people than u realise!
I can only imagine the stress of it all but at least they know what’s wrong and they can amend it. Is this what they call hematoma? Well done for quick thinking too thank god u got booked back in asap. Fx
Hi girls!
Thanks for all your messages! It means a lot….
Ok so I have surgery today to sort out my right boobie. Apparantly I had a bleed under the implant but when Dr Mounir re opened me up the bleed had already stopped and was a build up (like a clot) he removed the implant cleaned it, washed and flushed my boob socket and checked for any more bleeds and re insurted the implant. They then fitted me with a drain, which I’ve gotta say girls was more painful than originally having my boobs done, I woke up from the aneasetic crying as it was so sore! However once they removed the drain a couple hours later there was no pain at all! It’s buzzard. I’m now home and in bed. He said it happens to every 2 or 3 patients out of 100 and with my luck it’s just bloody typical it happened to me!
I’m so glad I rang the helpline though even though my friends and family said to wait a few more days! Hopefully it might help a few other girls of this is to happen to anyone else!! If you do have a gut feeling something is wrong then ring the number that’s what it’s there for! Dr Mounir said if I left it any longer the breast would of become infected an would of started to reject the implant completely!
Xxx
So glad it’s hopefully sorted for you now! And thank you for raising awareness about this, hopefully it will help someone in the future. I was told about the possibility of having a bleed, but not actually what the signs were so I wouldn’t of had a clue!
Good luck with the rest of your recovery, I hope it all goes a lot smoother now 🙂 xxx
Ye fran, hematoma. Hopefully on the mend now. Im in love with my left boob! Can’t wait for my right one to catch up now and they both look good! Xx
