Hi Hun don’t worry!! You can choose to either have a gas to put you to sleep (they will inject you with the proper stuff when you go off) or have the needle, you can ask for a numbing cream so you don’t need to worry about the injection! They can give you stuff 1st which will calm you and make you feel pissed and on top of the world! I’d say go for the needle 1st off as I don’t like the gas at all but you may prefer it! 6 breaths and your asleep! You’ll come round and not even realise you’ve been put under! You will be constantly monitored and even if you were to have a reaction they have everything there for anything like that you really are in safe hands 🙂 xxx

You’ll be fine hun! I have only ever had 2 ops.. one was quite major and I had general anaesthetic… The other I had local which I was meant to just be knocked out for although I went completely. I am SUCH whimp and HATE needles but honestly you will be panicking for 30 seconds whilst they are putting the drip in.. the next thing you’ll know it’ll be over and you’ll have new boobies!
I can even remember with my general an me telling the nurse ‘but i don’t feel sleepy yet…’ then I was gone lol x

I feel exactly the same as you Alexandra !! My BA is friday and i’m absolutely petrified too. I think the gas thing first seems like a good option.. you will feel a little more in control which is what I am gonna do. I am absoutely sure we will both be fine.. just think of the results ! 1 hour and it’s all over 🙂 xx

Hi Alexandra, this was the ONLY thing that scared me too, I didn’t tell anyone until after the op so it was building up and building up but honestly I needn’t have worried! I had numbing cream out on my hands, I have a severe phobia of needles after having my last baby, my veins now collapse when I see a needle lol. Anyway, took me down chatted to me, (staff were ALL amazing!) put the cannula into my hand I didn’t feel a thing, said I was gonna feel like I’d had a few drinks and I was gone! Next thing I knew they were trying to wake me up in recovery, I was so tired I just wanted to sleep, when I woke up properly though and saw my boobs I was like ‘hell yeah!’ It’s understandable to be nervous, but you’ll be ok! It’ll be over before you know it, like Kate said if you had a reaction they have everything there that you would need 🙂 xx
