    Hi girls,
I’ve just got my admission time, was hoping for earliest possible and I’ve ended up with 2pm 🙁 gutted. I’m gonna be starving and it’s gonna make it worse that I will just be sat waiting for it all day I’ll probably get more worked up, I just wanted to get up in the morning and go!
Can anyone else who’s had 2pm admission time please tell me:
What time you went down for op?
What time you left the hospital?
Did you get up before 8am and eat something pretty big?

    Thank you xx

    Hello!
My admission time was 2pm in Preston and I have to say I was pretty gutted too as I too wanted to get up and go, I was really frightened and had worked myself up into a bit of a state the few days before.
I set my alarm a little earlier so that I could have something to eat and drink before the cut off so I had a great big bacon butty and a cup of tea (I was really thankful for this later on!)
The morning when pretty fast and I was strangely calm. I watched TV, had a shower and washed my hair and we set off about 1230pm.
I got to the hospital just before 2 and from then it when really fast, people are in and out of your room, checking notes, blood pressure, marking you up, etc. I have my cannula put in in my room too. I chilled out and watch TV and even managed a little nap on the bed with my boyfriend 🙂 I was taken to theatre at about 4.30pm and was back in my room by 6pm. I slept on and off for a few hours, had some tea and toast and was on my way home by 10.30pm. It wasn’t so bad hun so don’t worry, the day goes really fast I promise. The good thing about having a later admission time is that when you get home that night the anaesthetic and pain relief are still working so you get a good night sleep xx

Hi Lucy, my admission time was 2pm at the London Fitzroy this week. Unfortunately there was a delay and I didn’t go down to theatre until 7pm. I was the last patient of the day, but my room was lovely and the nurses were brilliant. I would say get up early, eat and drink, also have water up until about midday. The anaethatist struggled with my cannula because I was so dehydrated, I hadn’t eaten or drunk anything since 7:30am so it took three attempts to fit it!! Not pleasant.
Bring a book, watch to, listen to music whatever to keep you occupied, it is worth it hon xx

@abs2109 @cat76 that’s so helpful thank you so much ! I feel a bit better about it now especially with you saying I will sleep better as the anaesthetic won’t have worn off yet didn’t think of that 🙂

@sparklesparkler that’d be perfect if I only had to wait an hour…were you at Preston? X

And when I had asked Mya they had said might be up to a 6hr delay! So I was dreading it. But couldn’t have been more perfect!
