Hi ladies. I have my surgery booked for 16th March, I just want to know what pain I’m going to be in for. I have quite a high pain tolerance due to having open heart surgery couple years back but just curious. TIA Xx

Hey Charlotte, I thought I had a bad tolerance to pain but was out for dinner the next day after surgery then out getting my nails done on day 2. I find keeping busy takes your mind off any kind of pain. I only take 2 paracetamol in the day and the codeine before bed so that I can rest and sleep well and honestly feel great and am shocked at the recovery so far. Are you excited for tour surgery? What are your stats? Xx

Depends if you are having unders or overs. I had overs and was pretty much fine from the moment I woke up from the anesthetic, just achy and bruised. But I’ve seen On here and know people Personally who had unders and had pretty bad pain for at least 5 days.

Personally I think prepare for the worst, plan to be doing as little as possible for the first week and then if it’s not that bad it’s a plus! I’m a nurse so I thought I’d need more than the recommended 2 weeks off. Took off 3 weeks. Now I’m 10 days post op and def feel like I could be at work!

@Charlotte, I had my surgery yesterday, I had dual plane unders. I have been a bit sore but absolutely bearable. Been taking regular Ibuprofen and cocodamol but up and about and driving today…. got to do the nursery and school runs…. no rest for the wicked.
