Hi Leah, I didn’t go with MYA but I can give you any advice you may need! I was an overnight he patient however, I took for the day: post op bra, change of clothes(real comfy something to button or zip up Cos you’ll be achey & sore), headphones, charger, magazines, snacks for after(I took ginger biscuits Cos you have feel sick after being under), slip on shoes, slippers, fluffy socks!
When I arrived at the hospital they took me to the room, told me to get into my gown & sexy socks & paper pants haha! Then a nurse came and asked me some questions(a few did this), my anaesthetist came & went through everything with me & then my surgeon came to draw on me! An hour later another nurse came and walked me to theatre!
Post op: just chill out, relax, don’t do anything you don’t need to! Make sure you have someone with you for the first couple of days Cos you’ll be in pain & Won’t want to be doing a thing! Make sure everything is on a low level so you can reach as you won’t be able to lift your arms(well you won’t want to) & last but not least be patient! I’ve been telling myself this & still will be! It’s a marathon not a sprint!
Good luck! X
