    Hi all,

I have my surgery in December with Mr Marcellino.
I have my pre op in 2 weeks.
I’m just wondering where I can find information about after care or will this all be given to me at my pre op?

    1) what kind of bandage/dressing will I have
    2) what support do you wear with the bandage?
    3) how long does the dressing stay on for and who takes it off, do you have to go back to the hospital to get it off?
    4) what kind of bras do I need to wear after surgery and for how long before I can just wear whatever
    5) do I buy the support bras before surgery and take them with me on the day? What size do I get?

You buy bras before surgery and take them with you. If you get a Macom or Mya or recova bra then it goes by band size but you usually need to go one size up due to swelling. Other bras are in cup sizes so you would need to guess if you where to get an m and s bra. You need to wear these bras for six weeks until your final nurse check up to get the all clear for normal bras 🙂 you will get the dressing off at the clinic where you see your nurse and pc. Usually one week later. But you will get a lot of information at your pre op 🙂 xx

Hi Hun. You’ll usually get that info at your pre op.

Usually you wear a post op bra for 6 weeks 24/7 like a MYA bra or a MACOM. I have 3 Macom and find them super comfy. They come in small / medium & large. If it fits before it will fit after.

I had my dressing on for one week then redressed and they were finally removed for good at the end of week 2. The nurse at your clinic will dress / remove them for you.

It depends on your surgeon as to whether they’ll use strapping or not – if you do have strapping it’s usually on for a week give or take.

Hope this is enough info for you xx
