After Care Worries

Ladies, iv seen an awful lot of negativity on here about MYA aftercare services, its making me rather worried :-/
Has anyone has problems with the aftercare or anything positive about it.

I have even booked mine yet, booking it Saturday, i think i need to ask a few more questions to be sure the aftercare is what it says it is slightly concerning :-/ x

My aftercare hasn’t been disappointing. I didn’t expect anything, knew I could contact the nurse or my pc if I needed but didn’t need to. Had my 6 week check and the girls were great. Sorry I can’t add how helpful they’ve been because I didn’t need any. I had to ring the emergency number once when I’d been sick and they were great but we to the docs to get anti sickness meds. I’m not sure what the expectation of aftercare is. I paid for my great bookies and didn’t really expect much more x

Thanks Deborah, just getting a bit worried seeing all these negative posts about how awful the aftercare is. Glad everything went well for you. Im worrying incase i do need the aftercare and its not there.
Hopefully ill get some more info and speak to my PC.

Hey Stevie you worrying again so I see Hun?? Lol bless you 🙂 I’ve had to call emergency number tonight Hun as I’ve over done it :-/ went and fed the ducks and was cleaning my kitchen!!!! Everything I have been told not to do anyway I have managed to re-open my chest drain hole we think as there was a bit of blood but I am ok I spoke to the nurse for a good 20 mins we talked through everything I was calm anyway and suggested that it was from chest drain initially she asked me loads of questions and asked me to do my temperature which was more or less normal! She said to get some bandage and cover over the leaky area and see how I go she called me back around 45 mins later to see how I am and I think they may want me to go to the clinic tomorrow we will see so so far all ok 🙂 xx

OMG ur so brave ! Im am worrying about everything im awful. Yeah best to go back just to check everythings okay. You need to rest up now, no more cleaning or walks lol. That promising though that the nurse was helpful and called you back. Xx

Jenny REST…thats an order!!! You might feel fine but you still have had surgery and your body needs to heal. Please put your feet up and chill. The more active you are the higher your blood pressure and the increased chance of bleeding. Your cleaning can wait…if it makes you feel better I’ll save mine for you for when you get better lol xx

Lol ladies you make me laugh I just can’t bare sitting around doing nothing :-/ I have been in bed an hour and my bum is sore! But I admit it I have learnt the hard way now so I’m going to have to suffer it somehow! On the upside all my family now know and think its great 🙂 lol every cloud ay ladies 😉 xx

Iv had good aftercare as of yet! Not really had any emergencies but my pc has been in contact several times to check im alright! My 1 week check was fine, the nurse was lovely and reassuring! And i mentioned on here yesterday that iv had a numb leg the past few days and had an mya mod contact me (of their own back) this morning to check how it was, and she gave me her number should i need to talk to anyone about it again which i though was good! Not really read any of the negative comments as i had made my decision to go ahead and didnt want any added worry! I can only say positive things about my mya experience so far! Hope that helps 🙂 xx

That great news Jenny. Thanks Lucy thats helpful. Im at the early stages of BA, i have a meeting with my surgeon next satuday. I think im worrying too much about everything :-/ lol xx

U will find it will take over your life, it did mine!! But its only normal to worry! Make sure you note down your concens/questions cos then u can ask ur pc, thats what they are there for! I emailed mine a couple of times at Midnight worrying about sizes and allsorts! Ha! I guess we all have different experiences during the whole process but all i all i only have positive things to say! Take advantage of this forum is my best advice tho, the girls on here have helped me so much!! And although there clearly are some negative comments i thinkthe majority of girls i have spoken to have said its the best thing they hav done!! I’m only 7 weeks but when ever i’ve needed my pc or advice from the nurse up too this point they have been fab, My 6 week check i was told everything i needed too know and my questions were answered, so far i’m happy with MYA x

To be honest I dont think my pc has been great for my aftercare! infact rubbish! I ended up having to have a re-op through no fault of my surgeon and my pc lied to mine and my mums faced loads! ahoclong service from her of how she lied all the time! had to ring about 10 times eachctime i wanted to contact her before she would bother to ring me back. however the nurse and surgeon have been fab xx

Shocking service supposed to be from her she dint even bother to ring see if i was ok after re-op x

I think it just depends who ur pc is with regards to calling you back etc.
My PC was absolute rubbish and caused me so much stress. 2 days before my op I got a call saying she had charged me wrong and I needed to transfer another £800 otherwise my op would be canceled!! So I then had to find more money it was an absolute joke!! She never rang the morning of my op and when I tried to call her I got no answer and she didn’t return my call.
Also when booking my op she said I had to have an over night stay at an extra £400 but mr traynor said that was rubbish and I could go home if I wanted. I thought no point cos I won’t end up get my money back! Luckily shes left! But also when they used to do recommend a friend so many girls complained of never getting their money.
The list of things I was unhappy with is pretty long and I wud be here all day if I was to say what they were!
I’ve been on here a long time having had a reop and I’ve seen some very unhappy girls but also girls that are happy.
Would I use Mya again? Yes but only because of mr traynor. The nurses were lovely and the staff at first trust were amazing too. Just seems to be the pc’s that are the problem, although some pc’s are highly praised on here so it just depends who u get!
The most important thing is the surgeon! Xx

I just had another call from the aftercare team to see how I was doing and to ask if I wanted to come see the nurse after last night leak! But I’m fine very stiff and sore and stingy but don’t think I’m leaking anymore! xx

My aftercares been fine both times, all questions answered it i ask anything, if i wanted the surgeon to examine them it was easy to book n put my mind at rest.. But then again i didnt have any problems/complaints about my surgery results which iv heard is where the problems arise coz they dont wanna give a free re op even if the surgeon agrees one is needed.. X

I agree aysha, I did get a reop but was messed about quite a lot and it was a very stressful experience. I’m all sorted now tho and that’s the most important thing x

I’ve been very lucky I had my 1st op in jan with full uplift and implants and my right breast wasn’t rite but the company I went with was really good with me and had me book in for my re op a week later af saying I needed one which I had on the 23 step and I asked him while he was n there could I have bigger implant so I went from 415cc to 450cc which was nice of him
