after op – late period

hi girls, dont know if anyone has been in the same boat as me but im 4 and a half weeks post op now and was due on my period about 2 weeks ago. ive done two pregnancy tests and both are negative so deffo not pregnant. has anyone else been late on after their ops? didnt know if it was something to be worried about or to speak to my nurse about. everything else is fine and am healing well just a bit worried about this!! x

I wouldnt worry yourself too much, your body has been through a major surgery so it’s bound to be off-whack for a while. My period is sometimes late because I have a cold haha! X

Are you / were you on the pill?
I am on the pill so had to come off it for the op, i’m back taking it again now and haven’t come on when I expected too either if that helps?

If not i’ve no idea! But like Abi said, I think it could be down to stress to your body – if you’re worried ask your nurse 🙂 xxx

Hi ladies think it’s just our bodies way of coping I was the opposite wasn’t due on at all, it was as if a tap had been turned on!!! Excuse the way I put it lol, the day after surgery x x x

I wasn’t due on , but a week after my op I had my period , it was much heavier than my previous periods …

thanks for all your help ladies. finally came on fine – did some research and like you say its probably shock from my body dealing with the op! hope your all doing well xx
