After steri strips come off? What now?

Hey I took my steri strips off last night in shower and scars are looking quite gd…I don’t like just leaving them without anything on them at all… Has anyone’s nurse recommended to put sumfin on after? Dermatrix strips in heard about but do u have to wait 6 weeks? Or is it best to just leave them bare now until my 6 week check? I kno I can’t put bio oil or anything on yet but what bout dermatrix strips? Xx

Leaving them is best hun, putting things over them can cause more damage then good. After six weeks you can start dressing them in anything to help with the look of scars xx

Ok so just leave them totally bare with the sports bra below them? Just feel bit exposed but sure i will get used to it. Thanks Hun XX

Hi Chrissy I’m the same as you had my strips off last night and one of them looked a bit bumpy so left it on till tonight, I’m scared there going to rip open. Can’t wait till 6weeks when I know they will be properly healed x

iv got a couple of the big breathable padded plasters back on mine as the insissions were very sensitive everytime my bra touched them or anything the sensation was unbareable i called the nurse n she said that its ok but try to let them be uncovered at night at least as the air helps them to heal better

I felt like that, I was nervous when I had my strips off – I tried to get some more in boots but couldn’t find any. Honestly it is best just to leave them, my scars look great now. Just try to make sure your sports bra sits as low down as possible x

Ok fanx girls…, christal one of mines a bit bumpy but this is just becos its a new scar nurse sed it will smooth n flatten out in time so dont worry Too much ..she also sed I had to remove both steri strips in 4 days & dont leave any longer so probs best to remove urs today? Xx

Hi girls, i’m having mine taken off this week and like u have concerns as mine are still sore and sting ocassionally when touched. Alot of sports bra’s will rub but i’ve been told by a friend that u can buy post-surgical bra’s from M&S and they sit lower than the scars so are so much more comfy. I bought mine online from MaCom before i knew about M&S but it was pricy! £38 including delivery but in promotional code box type in MYA for about 10% off!. So not sexy but when you’re uncomfortable you’ll try anything x
