Hi ladies,
I’m having my op on the 21st December, I know you’re not suppose to drink alcohol 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after your op…I was just wondering what the reason was for this? Is it because of the medication I’ll be on or just so you don’t get wasted, fall over and hurt yourself lol I was speaking to my boyfriend about it and he seemed quite disappointed that I won’t be having a cheeky tipple with him over xmas, just thought I’d ask xxx
Alcohol thins the blood so can cause complications in surgery and the healin process xx
Hi Hun! Alcohol can thin your blood putting your at risk of excessive bleeding that’s why they recommend it for before & after surgery… & also for afterwards you shouldn’t drink with the medication your going to be on (antibiotics and pain killers) hope this helps a Little! My op is on Friday 😀 xx
Ah ok thanks guys 🙂 I was wondering if I could get away with one or two but probably not worth it for thinner blood! Problem is I’m trying to keep my boob job as unknown as possible, but I reckon people might start asking question when they see me with an orangejuice instead of a vino in my hand xmas day haha Good luck with your op! xxx
Hi @Tanya
At my pre op the sheet given says 48Hours before but they advise atleast two weeks prior to surgery my Surgery is coming close but I am going out for my birthday next weekend I was given the ok thumbs up and can get as hammered as I want but to avoid spirit drinks so only champagne for me well I’m not really a spirit fan anyway more a champagne lady ha! But have plenty of time to detox till my surgery ..
Erm drinking decreases the bodies nutrients so slows the healing process you are more prone to infections and also it dehydrates you. X
Stick sum cramberry in a wine glass haha. . Mines 17th so no drinks for me either except new yrs eve ill be two weeks so defo will be having a few haha xx
So looking forward to having mine done on the 21st as well.great Xmas present to yourself I think but the only thing I am not looking forward to is not drinking over this period and going to Xmas party and everyone else is drunk lol. Wish you the best ladies for your big day.bigger boobs here we come x
I was 10 days post op and went out for a couple of drinks on the weekend. Definitely wouldn’t recommend it!
Felt fine on the night but the next day my hangover was the worst I’ve ever had, and I only had a couple of drinks. Think it could be a mix of all the medication and things. Would definitely recommended waiting until you feel 100% post op xxx
Hi ladies, I decided to stop all alcohol for the 2 weeks before and after… Thought it would be really hard as I usually have a glass of wine or even 2 every night. Not a huge party drinker anymore but love my vino. Crazy thing though- because I was doing it for this Vaser lipo and the medical reasons of not thinning the blood etc to help my body recover well, it was so easy to not drink. I just told everyone I was doing a NO-vember, like MO-vember with the moustaches for men! They bought it, plus some people know I had “surgery” they just don’t know what type (I told them it was personal). I definitely recommend you stay off alcohol entirely for your op and recovery, it’s important for your healing… Besides, really good for you! I drink a ridiculous amount of water, and haven’t had any alcohol since 4 nov, and I’m holding out til my garments come off on 13 Dec… My big day!!! Most definitely worth a glass of champagne then! I think the cranberry juice idea is a good one for you for a Xmas looking drink! Good luck babe xxx
Yea its not the end ov the world goin without for for weeks i found it easy i still havent drank yet n wont untill i go out at xmas wen ill b 5/6weeks post op its not really the pre op its the most important for the healing process post op x
