alcohol 5 days after

Anyone have a drink 5 days after ba ? Xx

Ok ok I’m no doctor or surgeon but I believe you can drink after antibiotics are finished. I didn’t however I had a few wines 2 days post op and I’m still here to tell the tale 🙂 Xx

I finish my antibiotics Tuesday and dying for a baileys .. but if it delays the healing il wait till Tuesday lol xx

I haven’t had a drink yet but could do with one lol. I am 4 days PO today. X

I waited until 1 week po.. when i had finished the antibiotics that was it there was no stopping me haha xx

Ha ha I had my ba Tuesday .. and even Tuesday night I wanted a baileys. . Having Chinese takeaway tonight and the hubby is on the wine already…. arrgg lol xx

@janet apparently your ment to avoid Chinese food after op! Says so in my after care booklet! I had one of those too 2 days post op. Hahaha xx

I read the after care advice about 6 days after my op and was like ohhhhhh dear I’ve done everything I shouldn’t had a massive panic on was worrying for nothing! It’s just the same as any op after care I’ve had 2 sections and wasn’t told to not eat certain things or drink certain things it’s all just about the tablets mixing with the alcohol, google your antibiotics and see if you can have a small drink with them x

Alcohol can interact with certain medicines.

In the case of Amoxicillin trihydrate/Potassium clavulanate:

there are no known interactions between alcohol and Amoxicillin trihydrate/Potassium clavulanate

Just worried if alcohol can effect the healing xx

Avoiding or limiting alcohol will aid in scar healing chick but in my personal opinion a few won’t harm it xx

Il wait till Tuesday when my antibiotics have finished xx thanks for the info 😉 xx

It thins the blood so can delay healing but if you’re only having one it won’t do much and drinking whilst on antibiotics can make you feel sick but doesn’t actually do damage, you only shouldn’t if it’s 2 specific ones x
