Hello ladies thought I would share my story with you and for anyone that’s waiting for surgery to give you the heads up on what to expect, my admission time was 9:00am at Preston first trust hospital I left home about 7am with my dad in the car to chaperone me back! I drove there to keep my mind busy and my dad kept me entertained the whole way which was good as I wasn’t thinking about the operation, when I got there a lovely nurse came iand took me to my room, various other people came in afterwards different doctors mr monuir to draw on me and the anesthesia (however it’s spelt) my dad went off to get a full English as he was hank Marvin and I chilled in my room in my gown and stockings, all the way running up to surgery iv been so nervous for me it was the general anaesthetic as I knew after that had gone in it was all over, but surprisingly on the day I wasn’t too nervous, the nurse then came in about 10:50 and said iv come for you this time, we walked down to the room for me to be took into surgery, she put some patches on my back to monitor me whilst I was under and the anesthesia came and but the Canular in me, he said were going in now and that’s all I remember, when I woke up it felt like a blink of an eye and I was so chatty proper talking to the nurse to the point that she had to turn around and say to me ‘can you just be quiet for a minute please’ haha I think it was the morphine making me feel drunk! They took me back to my room and my dad came in to see me, I was so relieved it was all over and in no pain what so ever, I finally left hospital about 4am to come home, iv been really sick from the drugs but like I say no pain, I slept quite well and I feel fine today just starving! My main msg here is if you are going for surgery please please don’t worry about anything it’s an absolute doddle and I am the biggest worrier ever! I would go through it all again tomorrow and I’m not just saying that, please enjoy the experience as you won’t experience it again prob for another 15 years 😉 good luck to everyone waiting for surgery it is the BEST Xmas present I could of asked for and I am so happy with the result!
