So I had my op with Mr Traynor yesterday at Preston, I had 375 hp unders from a 32a. That man is amazing and I have barely even see my new additions yet!! I would recommend him to anybody 😀
I had an admission time of 1pm so got up and had a crumpet and cup of tea at 6am seeing as I was up anyway having not slept (nerves!) My boyfriend drove me there and we arrived at 12.40 and were shown to a waiting room with a few other patients. I waited in there until 4.30pm! One nurse popped her head in a few times apologising for the wait towards the end.
So this is where the anesthetiset came to see me (nobody else was in the room by then) and explained what he was going to do – I just shut my ears abit cos I’m scared of needles haha!
At 4.30 a lady came to show me to my room and gave me a gown and paper knickers and said somebody would come round soon. Our tele didnt work so after a long afternoon of home or away and Jeremy Kyle we resorted to eye spy!!
Mr Traynor came to see me at around 6.30pm and apologised for my long wait, he sat on the bed reading my magazines with me and had a bit of a laugh to ease my nerves 🙂 he then drew on me and told me not long.
At 6.50pm a lady who was working alongside the anesthetiset (loveliest lady in the world) came to get me and take me to surgery – finally!! My nerves had gone I just wanted to be done haha! She was so kind to me while having the needle put in (which I promise isn’t that bad and I’ve got massive needle phobia) and then I was out like a light before I knew it. I woke up and hour later and was asking frantically for my boyfriend who had toddled off to the waiting room to watch the football haha!
At this point I was in little pain just discomfort and had a heavy feeling of pressure on my chest which was weird getting used to. An hour later at about 9 I asked for more drugs so the nurse gave me some codiene. After waiting a couple of hours for my drip to finish, some tea and toast and my bra and pyjamas to be put on I asked if I could go home which she said was absolutely fine 🙂 I was so relieved as I was supposed to be an overnight case but just wanted to be at home so bad!
we arrived home just before midnight and I couldn’t wait to get on the sofa with my big v pillow as I’d left it at home!! 🙁 so my boyfriend propped me up best way he could in the corner of the sofa and he slept on the other side of it to keep an eye on me 🙂
Anyway I think I fell too far down in the night as I couldn’t move when I woke up I felt useless! But I’ve had some co-codomol and a drink and sat up and I’m feeling much better now – gonna do a bit of pottering about today in my lovely stockings and be reunited with my daughter 😀
