I went for my pre op yesterday, when the first time anxiety had been brought up, I was then told that because I had medication for anxiety back in April and not since that I may have to have my op postponed, it was never mentioned to me before and I only had that one prescription as I was having a stressful time at work? Has anyone else had this issue and if so what was the outcome I’m really hoping they don’t postpone my op I’ve booked my hotel and everything!

I had this and went in to my pre-op with a letter. The nurse wanted more info so i spoke to my PC after and she clarified exactly what was needed with the clinical lead. I got another letter from the doctor the only difference in this one was clarifying what the anxiety was related to (sickness/emetophobia). They signed it off and due to have my op on Thursday. I too was prescribed one month of meds which i never took but it was May 2015 so well over a year ago for me. i have heard they like you to be 6 months clear of any medication but there have also been some girls on medication and still allowed their op

What has she asked you for? Maybe speak to your PC and clarify if you get a doctors letter saying you are fit and well and capable of making the decision will this suffice or will you have to wait the 6 months

I don’t think they handle these issues correctly to be honest. i know they have to be careful but no other company is this strict on things

She just said to ring my doctor or see them so that they can update my record on thisand say whether the issue is resolved or not which I’m sure she will back me up with, mya have sent them a letter and have asked for more info on it so aslong as our stories are the same I should be fine its just a shame it’s got to this stage of the process as I’ve booked my hotel etc I’m 99% it’ll be fine but if it isn’t I really won’t be impressed as I will be out of pocket

I was booked in to have my BA on the 30th March. When I went to my nurse appointment anxiety was then brought up (for the first time) and I was told I need to be 6 months clear from any tablets to have to opp, I then had to pay £150 to move my opp. It’s now been 6 months and my GP have sent my medical records over and I’ve been told everything should be okay now, I have my opp in a week and I’m panicking that I’ll get a phone call any minuet with another problem!!!
