Anyone else a diabetic ??

Hi ladies just wondering if any of you are a diabetic and have had a BA ? I was all excited until yesterday when I seen my GP for my blood results that mya wanted me to get as my thyroid is abit abornmal and my GP told me that there not likely to carry out the surgery with my thyroid being the way it is so I panicked and rang my pc straight away and explained to her she was fab she ran to see the nurse straight away to ask her and she reassured me that my results are not a problem they are just waiting for my surgeon to get back off his holiday so he can check my notes to give the go ahead Monday ? fingers crossed it’s all ok but I personally think they should do all these pre checks and make sure your fit for surgery well before your allowed to book a date etc I will be devastated if he cancels now ? xx

Hiya hun thanks for getting back to me I thought I was all alone with no one replying to me ?? you’ve given me some hope now thank you my HBA1C is 7 so I’m all good there and it’s all pretty well controlled have the odd hypo and goes high a little now and then but nothing major ? no they definitely don’t make it easy I’m so stressed right now back and forth gotta go back and get my coagulation bloods done again this Thursday just text my pc aswel to let me know what my surgeon says as my op is 2 weeks today ? lol how was you after it hun did it all go well ? ? xxx

Yeah I was convinced I wouldn’t be able to have it done! Thought it would be just my luck for them to say no! haha – You will be first on the list on the day of your op, they will make you do your bloods before you go down then they will test them while your under. I thought mine would go crazy high with nerves but they were about 12 all day which isn’t too drastic! 🙂
Yeah my surgery went well and so far so good (touch wood), I’m 18 days post op now and I still have little scabs on my incisions but I don’t want to touch them yet and I knew I would take a little longer to heal 🙂

It is my luck though the nurse just rang me they are not going to to through with it ??? I’m crying my eyes out in anger more than anything after them telling me it wouldn’t b a problem and it was all fine that I could relax and just be x cited ??? xxxx

Oh no! That’s terrible! Did they say why? Did they ask you for a specialist letter? I had to get consent from my diabetes specialist and my GP for them to sign it off! xxx

The anaesthetic isn’t happy to put me to sleep because of my bloods results apparently she said they are not stable enough or controlled I did get abit arsey with the nurse as I’m so mad and upset about it but I told them last year I had my ears done and was put 2 sleep for 2 hours she said there going to see if they can get another one to do it so really they can’t be that bad if someone else may consider it its so well controlled now and I’m absolutely gutted ??? xxx
