I’m really worried about long-term side-effects. I’ve been reading up on the internet about so many women who’ve had terrible experiences i’ve never heard or read of before, autoimmune diseases etc. These women’s lives have been destroyed because of their implants and i really don’t want that to happen to me. It wouldn’t be worth it. The more i think about it the more i think it’s obviously so unnatural for a foeign object to be inside your body for many years.

I wanted to know if anyone here has had their implants in for more than 4-5 years and what their experience has been….what kind of side-effects they’ve experienced and if they’ve had any corrective surgeries since their first BA

    Thanks guys

mazzy, im a medical student and i will be getting my op on aug 5th, autoimmune disease is not something that can be caused by implants or foreign objects it is a disease that attacks body’s OWN tissue and organs. so because implants are not grafts; as in they are not live and expected to carry out a function like a kidney or liver transplant, you really have nothing to worry about. however, if youre not in good health and have problems such as recurrent infection, very low immunity, high blood pressure, heart problems etc…they you should defo let your surgeon know these, they will play a part in your operation and sucess of it…. as far as my research goes well over 90% of all BAs end well and produce fab results but if you feel unsure you should book another appointment with ur surgeon and talk about all the issues that consern u! its REALLY important that everything is clear for you b4 u make a decision.

my mate did her BA 7years ago when she was just 18 and shes absolutely fine….hope this helps a little. please dont worry and speak to MYA and arrange to see a surgeon, u have nothing to lose.
