Anyone had to move their surgery date?

Hi girls, just wondered if anyone had to move their surgery date due to medical information that mya need? Did you get charged?

I am waiting for a letter confirming I can have surgery but have to have a MRI / ultrasound first due to breast cancer history. Surgery is on the 8th September and don’t want to be charged for moving my surgery date if I can’t get the information in time as it’s out of my control!

This was also never brought up when I had my 1st consultation with mr Frati back in Feb before I booked my opp!!! Thanks

Hey i was told i think before 14 days before surgery its £150 £500 £1000 the sooner u change it the cheaper it is as i said if i dony have all thr funds near the operation can i move it but yes u get charge £150 or more if u leave it to late x

You may also get charged for the mri as its for an external company. Mya couldnt get my bloods at first and she said i may have to go to the doctors to have it done but they charge is its not for NHS purpose. I also had to pay to get my ecg done from the doctors too x

Thanks girls. I have my MRI and ultrasound booked with NHS for 16th/17th instead of privately. I understand there is a charge to change but only if the patient wants to. Obv I don’t want to but it’s out of my control

Hiya iv not had my first consultation yet but was wondering now that i have seen this if i might have the same problem. My mum had breast cancer and her sister had the same type a fe years later 🙁 xx

@lauraj1987 sorry to hear this, horrible anit it!! Make sure you are very clear with them and ask what you need. They wasn’t clear with me so having to panic last min now!! Have you been tested to see if you have the same gene as them? E.g. The brca gene?

Yeah i hadnt thought too much into it but least i can fetch it up an discuss it now. Yes i was tested a few years ago i dont carry it. Hope everything goes well for you an you dont have to move your op date! X
