Anyone told to stop antibiotic post op @worried

Anyone had to stop their antibiotics post op? I’ve had a reaction to mine where face went numb and eyes felt swollen. Been told to stop and not take an alternative. Just worried I’ll get an infection now? It just all seems to happen to me. Something else to stress about! Any medically trained people got any thoughts on that?

I stopped my antibiotics 4days post op cos was having a rushed time and nurse told me to, I was fine x

I literally only had two tablets and they told me to stop them. I’m panicking like made about getting and infection. And as all strapped up won’t necessarily notice it if I get one….

Aww Hun I am sure you will be fine. Is there not an alternative you can take? I am allergic to penicillin and the nurse said they were giving me an alternative x

You should take a note of all the meds that you are reacting to and advise your GP or better still for your own future ref as next time for anythin wether cosmetic or not they will know the right meds to prescribe you X

Nicole you are driving yourself mad bless ya. If you are that worried and not gonna feel eased just take the other medication your doctor prescribed, it won’t hurt, at least you can rest your mind then x

Ha yes you r probably right! But if u go against advice of surgeon if anything goes wrong you won’t be covered! I was just hoping for other girls who didn’t take them and were absolutely fine! Yes I’m the neurotic one on here 🙂

They gave me erythromycin because of the penicillin, if it’s something they give out at high gate what could be the problem. I am exactly the same though, total panicker. I’m surprised no one else in hear been through the same

Well I’ve got them in case and if spot any signs I’ll take them but then I freaked out when read side effects as it said could cause soft tissue infection the exact thing suppose to treat so I’m just gonna worry because if it’s not that it will be something else.

Tip of the day have a ba when you are young enough to have no fears or worries. Age and kids just kill you for worrying lol!

Hey hun I stopped taking them after 3 days as I was really sick off them. The nurse and surgeon said it’s ok as they’re mainly used foe the first few days. They know best. It’ll be ok just take their advice ans keep them updated all the time xxxx

I literally only had what they gave me in surgery then two tablets but just trying to eat really healthy to help healing . I know they are precaution only but it’s good to hear others that stopped and ok!
