Anyone with Sickle cell

hiya

has anyone with sickle cell trait or anemia had a ba? just waiting for my blood tests result, hoping this wont affect the outcome.

I have a thelesemmia trait which is similar and anemia aswel.. Have my op next sat and haven’t heard otherwise yet so fingers crossed all ok!!
I had a rhino last year and I was able to go through with that so hopefully all still ok!

I was meant to have my op today, but it got cancelled because my blood results came in too late, it shows that I have sickle cell trait and possibly alpha thalassaemia, im just waiting to see if they will reschedule my op so fingers crossed xxx

I have anemia and had my bloods yesterday, was told they would call today if there were any problems.. my ops nx saturday and all seems to be ok! x

ooooh ok!! i havent heard anything and had my pre op last tuesday (18th).. My op is next saturday too so hoping its going ahead if I havent heard anything by now..
Hope it gets re scheduled soon for you!

I have anemia and my surgeon has said providing I’m taking my iron tablets properly (my op is the 10th August) there should be no problems! xx

Ok so good news and bad news.
Bad news is my blood results came back showing sickle cell trait and possibly alpha thelesimia.
Really good news is I can still have my op, so roll on Friday 😀

Wooo happy for you hun!! They cancelled mine tuesday cos they couldn’t get my records from my doctor but lucky they still had my records from when I had my rhino done last year!! And they said I can go ahead Saturday!! So relieved!
