Arnica is it worth getting?!

Hi girls,
Surgerys on Monday and I’ve been using bio oil and moisturisers already to try and prepare my skin. I really don’t want stretch marks and brushing to be minimal. What are your thoughts on arnica? I’ve read very mixed reviews about it and didn’t know whether to chance it without?

Any advise would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Abi, my op is on Sunday 🙂 I’ve been using bio oil too but I’ve been told to take arnicare after my operation as it is linked with excessive bleeding during surgery, but there are loads of girls who have used it and have been fine but maybe take it after your surgery just as a precaution xxx

I took both after from post op day 1, morning and night! The skin is so swollen and so tight when you first have it done and it helps it tonnes! I felt the arnica cream helped, I stopped using arnica cream at 3 weeks post op! Bio oil I am still using daily! Bio oil will help prevent stretch marks especially when you swell and then as you heal it deflates quickly! Xx

I asked my nurse at my pre-op about arnica and she said they don’t recommend it. I’ve just been using bio-oil for now. My op’s on Wednesday 🙂 xx

I’ve been advised to take arnica tabs 3x a day starting a week before my op then continue for 2 weeks after, it helps with bruising and helps healing from the inside ?

I didn’t rate arnica, I don’t think it made much difference for me! I bruise really easily anyway though xx

@misscxx thank you ? I bought the tablets today and I’m using bio oil and apparently there’s a vitamin E cream for stretch marks and scars in Holland and Barrett that’s meant to be good. Good luck for Monday! What cc you having? xx

@jodiec I’ll be rattling to the hotel with all the tablets and lotions! I’m having 325cc mod+ what are you having? Are you a day case or overnight stay? Xx

@jodiec ? It’s better to be over conscious than not. Fingers crossed for you. If not I’m sure the 325cc will get you to a D or more. I asked for a D and he suggested 300cc but with losing 25cc when they’re on and settle and I asked for 325 to look like the 300 if that makes sense. I’m a day case too. Are you staying near by or live close enough to go home? Xx

@misscxx thanks Hun went with 375cc in the end ? I feel like they look massive! But I’ve got strapping on. I live in Kent so it’s about a 45 min drive home. Still got my drains in though ? Not looking forward to that haha xx

Congrats on your new boobies @jodiec How did you get on? They’ll look gorgeous when your strapping comes off and the drop and fluff fairy visits. Are you still there now? I’m so nervous keep feeling sickly about the thought of going tomorrow. Im dreading the drains but I’m sure the worst is over for you and not long till you can settle back at home xxx

@misscxx sorry only just seen this! I left at about 8.30 and I’ve had minimal pain so far, just a bit achey, what’s your admission time? Everyone really made me feel at ease so don’t worry too much, the whole operation is over before you even realise ? Don’t worry about the drains it’s just a weird sensation where they’re coming out of your skin, it only hurt a tiny bit when they pulled but that was only a split second of pain so I’m sure yours will be fine, good luck for today! @jodiec how did your pc order you another size without you seeing the surgeon I asked my pc about ordering me another size and she said I would have to go and see the surgeon.
