Hi girls,
My BA isn’t until the 14th August at Highgate but so excited already.
A friend wo has had a BA rec taking a cardigan or zip up top for after the surgery as you will find it hard to put on a normal t-shirt/jumper.
It might be a good idea to take a blow up pillow to support your neck while sleeping sitting up.
Good luck

Hi girls
I had my BA on 26 June and I’m so pleased with the results so far. I was quite nervous on the day but once you’re being prepared for the anaesthetic just try to relax and before you know it you’ll be waking up again!
Try not to worry too much about it and look forward to waking up after the op with your new boobs that you’ve been looking forward to having and making a steady recovery. Take care of yourselves after the op, don’t try to do too much, just relax. I had partial unders and was restricted for a good few days with swelling and the dressing! I had help having a shallow bath with Johnsons baby bath and washing my hair standing over the bath so I didn’t get my dressings wet. I found that I had a bit of pain the day after and took painkillers that night just in case I woke up in pain but didn’t need to take the painkillers again, just the antibiotics and anti-inflammatories which also help pain – but also stop you from going to the loo so you might need something to help Expect swelling and numbness, I also had a wierd squelching sound in my boobs but only for a few days, all normal. Once I had the dressings removed a week later I experienced some more pain mainly at night as my boobs were no longer strapped to me but it was more of a muscle pain in my left boob and its generally taking longer for that side to settle. At the minute my nipples feel like someone has rubbed sandpaper on them – very sore but it’ll all settle down soon I’m sure.
Wishing you all lots and luck and happiness with your new assets.

Hi ladies, I think you will be fine. I myself was worried right up til the day I came into hospital. When I went to theatre I was really calm. Remember nothing! Since I came in on Tues there have been many women who have had BAs and they all seem well. I myself had a tummy tuck. So you have no need to worry
hi girls,
I had my ba on 1st of july. Top tips for before surgery would be that for your last meal (6 hours before) make sure you eat enough because i was starving and could only eat 14hrs later!, take a headband or scrunchie, you need to tie your hair up for the op but i was uncomfortable when i woke up with a bobble digging in my head so i got my bf to take it out, i would have appriciated a headband to keep my hair out of my face as i couldn’t keep reaching up to move it! get whoever picks you up to bring a pillow for the journey home, and get a top that you can button up the front but you’ll need it a couple of sizes too big to be comfy and to fit it over your new boobs! As for the days after…i wont lie, i had a lot of pain and cried a couple of times (softy), but you’ll find that its bareable with the painkillers and anti inflammatories. Its the disablity that is harder in the first week, just make sure that you get help off everyone at home, and alot of sleep! Get loads of pillows for bed, i’ve been sleeping with 7!! Im all good now, no painkillers, im back at work and driving again! my boobs look amazing and i cant wait to get shopping! GOOD LUCK!! you’ll be fine xx
