Hay girls, I’m 10 days post op, no strapping and wearing sport bras. My sports bras fit me perfect around the boobs, I have low impact and medium impact ones and I have upper back ache when wearing both. Is the back ache due to the bras not giving me enough support or due to my body not used the weight on my chest or its just being annoying and aching x

Aw I had really bad back and shoulder ache. I think with me it was due to me being hunched over and being so stiff, think I was trying to protect my boobies without realising.
I’m nearly 4 week post op an back ache has gone now as iv relaxed more.
Shoulders still ache now and then but nothing like how it was. I’m not sure if that’s due to the wrong sports bra size, mine is high impact and really quite tight. Never been measured not even pre op so just sort of guessed my size!
I think it’s probably a combination of being stiff, not really using your muscles. I wore a medium impact bra on my nurse visit and she said I really need to be wearing high. Maybe try getting a high impact an see if that helps? A shoulder massage worked a little for me too xxx

Oh good, at least it will stop soonish. The thing about high impact for me is that I think it will make me ache more because I bought a medium impact but in size small and I could feel that pull my shoulders forward and I had to take it off.. So would I still ache if I got a high impact even if I get it in a medium? x

Yea my high impact does ache my shoulders but I’m really not sure if that’s due to it being the wrong size. I know what u mean about it pulling on ur shoulders and it is quite uncomfortable sometimes. Think iv just grown used to it though now. I’m counting down the days till I can wear a normal bra!
I think if you buy one that fits properly it shouldnt pull on ur shoulders too much.
Have u bought a Macon? I know they are supposed to be really good and you just buy ur normal back size as cup size adjusts. Wish I would of got one but feel its pointless now as only got 2 more week of sports bras and Iv got through the worst of the aching now.
I’d think about gettin one If I were u though. Or, I know ur too early to be measured for ur final size, but maybe go m&s and ask them to measure u so ur getting the right size sports bra?
Or ride the ache out lol xx

My sports bras ate from primark and forever 21, I’ve already spent so much on them from buying different colour and trying snarls and mediums so I don’t want to spend much more out :\ I have 7 already, I think I’ll just ride it out lol. Thanks for the replies though, how far post op are you x

Why do we have to wear the sports bras for 6 weeks? I was told I can go gym after 4, surely that would have more affect than sports bras?

    I’m not too sure tbh..
I HATE the dam things lol
I can see why at first to support u when ur scars are healing. I did mention it to my nurse when she said get high impact, she said it compresses ur boobs more help make ur pocket larger than implant an helps prevent CC. Not sure if this is the main reason or not though?
    Xx

It’s just because you tend to slouch over at first to sort of protect your boobs in a way. Don’t worry this will definitely get better x
