    Helpppppp. I’m POD 2 and my back is killing me from sleeping upright! I’ve got loads of pillows behind me (including 1 v pillow) plus one to sit on but when I wake up I can’t stay in that position as my back is too painful.

    I just miss waking up in a bed feeling super comfy 🙁 I’m tired and wanna go back to sleep but it hurts too much in that position, any help/advice with easing the back pain would be really appreciated – thanks in advance xx

    Hi Abi, I’m PO 9 days and I’m feeling very tired every morning , because I have to sleep up right at 45 degrees using a V pillow and my other pillows . This may sound strange but I’ve copied really well with the aches and pains after my Ba op , but not getting any sleep in my books is worse . ..6 weeks is a long time to wait before we can sleep on her sides and stomach.,… Can’t wait!!!! My back is ok , but I get cramps in my legs , I have to get up in the middle of the night to walk around for 5 mins until the cramps goes ….I would also love to know how other ladies are coping sleeping up right , any advice on how to get a decent night’s sleep? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated xx

    I’m the same! Pain is really getting me down think I might book in for a massage at the end of my 6 weeks lol. Think I’m gonna resort to sleeping on the sofa as its more comfy!! And keep waking up with a numb bum!! Xx

    I’m definitely going to have a body massage, my body feels stiff. My bum also aches too, some times I have to give it a massage to get it to feel normal again … This morning I looked at my calendar to see how many days are left before I can sleep on my side and stomach – 33days!!!!

    @beverlyduncan I used to get horrific cramps and get woken up in the night with them, just start putting salt on everything you possibly can food-wise. Trust me, you’ll stop getting the cramps once you’re dosed up on enough salt in your diet 🙂
    I keep trying to half lay on my side to help with back pain but then it gives me boob pain ha. It sucks to hear you’re 9 days PO ans still having this issue xx

    My nurse told me after 2 weeks I can go back to normal sleep,if it’s not hurt, but I see all of you saying go back to normal just after 6 weeks,so now I am confused..
    Otherwise, my bum hurts a lot to be upright all the time, and I hate I can’t cuddle my boyfriend whenever I want to and it seems to be he sleeps so far away from me 🙁

    I am 4 weeks post op and called my nurse about this yesterday. I’ve been sleeping upright for 4 weeks but read loads on here about girls laying down before that. I went through the mya paper work and it said 2 weeks for sleeping up! So anyway the nurse said its 2 weeks and you can lay down lol only on your back though.

    What I do is get the sofa back off and put that in my bed (u know the big cushion type on the back of the sofa you sit back on) then I build pillows up on that and it makes it so much more solid and actually quite comfy! I laid down last night and was so looking forward to it but I had the worst nights sleep ever?!xx

    @beverleyduncan sorry, I didn’t tag you properly in my earlier comment.

    @brigitta-inre
    it seems like a few of the nurses say different things, so confusing!

    @ellie2015
    I’ve never heard of anyone being told 4 weeks to sleep upright before, it does baffle me how everyone gets told different things! While I was at the clinic one nurse told me I don’t need to wear the stockings home but then the one who explained my pain meds to me told me to wear them home and wear them for a week!

    That’s a good idea with the sofa cushions xx

    Well I got told 6 weeks sleeping upright! Then I called again and spoke to a nurse who had them done with mya and she said I also had to sit up for 6 weeks! Couldn’t quite believe it lol. It wernt until I read my paper work which said 2 weeks that I spoke to a 3rd nurse who said two weeks. It’s strange how we do get told different though. Honestly the sofa cushions made it 10x better! Deffo worth trying it xx

    I don’t think you clean have a massage for 6 months after surgery…
    My paperwork says I can sleep on my belly after 3-4 weeks if I want. But I’d rather sleep on my side ? x

    Really? Does your paper work mention side sleeping? Mine doesn’t say anything about belly or side sleeping xx
