    When did everyone start going back to the gym? I’m 3 weeks post op and I feel disgusting I normally train 5/6 days a week so I’m really missing it. I know I can’t do any weights for a while and that’s fine but what about cardio like spin bikes will that be okay now? Are we able to get our heart rates up and get sweaty etc or will that cause issues?

    I’ve not had my op but I workout as regularly as you. When I had my first consultation I asked if I could go back to the gym before 6 weeks and do cardio on the bikes, I was told that I could but not on the bikes which require you to lean forward, as this will strain your muscles in your chest which are still recovering – if you have unders. I suppose you can do crosstrainer as well but not using arms and ensuring that you wear a very supportive sports bra. Xx

    Did you manage to find out a definitive answer? I feel like I need to get physical too! I have seen girls saying they’ve been on the sit-down bike, and treadmill on an incline from 3 weeks… but I wondered the same as you – is that just to get some activity, or can we go for it and get sweaty!?

    I got told 4 weeks after but just do leg work, girl I know had uplift and implants and had to have 8 weeks off. I’ve not had op yet but hoping to go back no later than 4 weeks after but will have to see how I feel.

    @beckixo I emailed my nurse and got this reply – “walking on a treadmill would be fine, but it would not be a good idea to be doing any exercise that “works up a sweat”, your body is still recovering, a sweaty moist environment breeds bacteria, so to avoid complications, including infection, I would wait until 6 weeks to exercise properly.”
