Bad treatment at the Fitzroy ??

Hi everyone,
I am hoping that I was a one off but just wanted to know what people thought about the treatment they received at the Fitzroy on the day of their surgery. I was sooo disappointed, shocked in fact. A few examples :-
Left for hours on end in my room waiting to be updated on what was going on
Freezing cold rooms
Really unfriendly and rude staff with no compassion
Treated literally like on are on a conveyor belt
Offered no drinks and got a piece of cold toast as a ‘meal’

I don’t want to put anyone off and I am hoping that they don’t treat every how I was treated. But I was utterly disgusted with the treatment I received after paying £ for a procedure in what I thought was a high class private clinic. My best friend who came with me said Hannah if it was me I would have got dressed and walked out of here already !
I am just praying that the results will be good to make up for this. Has anyone else received similar treatment ? Xxx

Me! My op was yesterday! They were careless and i cried so hard!! The nurse came hours after surgery just after i called her because my back was killing me ! I asked here to help me but she didn’t ! She said i need to move by myself! Then she brought me some pain killer after i asked here! 4 hours later i called her again for more pain relief! And my friend went to ask here for toast and tea just before i leave in hour! ! They were so bad!

That’s really bad! I had mine 2 weeks ago on a Sunday and I had a good experience! they weren’t overly attentive but I couldn’t complain. I just wanted to leave ASAP and go home!

Oh Ayat, I’m sorry that’s terrible but I know how you feel. How bad, I thought I was being over expect ive about the treatment I was going to receive but after talking it over with my friend it was terrible ! Xx

That’s ok, I’m glad some people have had good experiences. Guess I was just unlucky, what a shame ! It’s hard as your in such a vulnerable poisition, you just want it to be done and go home and then grit your teeth and hope you recover quickly. The main thing is obviously the results which fingers crossed I will be over the moon with ! 😉 xx

i had my op on fri, i didnt have bad treatment but was left on my own for hours, but i had my tablet and was engrossed in watching my programme on netflix so i was fine. The toast was cold but to be honest i would have ate anything and drank three jugs of water by the time i got out. They werent over the top nice, but they were polite, i just wanted to get out asap. I was a bit shocked that when Dr Singh came to check on me he stood in the doorway, asked how i was, i said fine, he said op went well asked me to show him my boobs and said great and good luck and he was gone. I thought i was having partial unders but he said no implants too big? but then i have seen other girls with my size having them put under, my only worry is that i will look like i have two balls under my skin now, but apart from that, it was okay

I must say the girl who took my drains out was horrible….just cold and rude ( she was an Asian looking girl) but then Tara who came and did all the checks was lovely. But I agree for what we pay and it being a private clinic they should definitely look into standards, recruitment and professionalism.

I think I was expecting them to be efficient and when I got there on time it would be fairly prompt. They asked me to get into my gown at 9:30an even though it was freezing and I asked if I could do it in a bit but they said they wanted me ready as my surgeon going to be ready soon. Truth is he didn’t turn up for work until 12:20 walked into the room saying he just had his hair cut and still in his coat while I had been freezing in my gown for hours !

I do agree this was bad as was not what you agreed but maybe your chest muscle wasn’t as flexible as he thought so couldn’t fit them under so didn’t which is obviously a good thing. I don’t think over will be a problem, Gravity will do its thing and I’m sure they will look fine honestly, I personally don’t think the muscle disguses things that much from the photos I’ve seen but is mostly used people who don’t have the excess skin on their chest so have no choice but under the muscle. @hannah1982 your admission was at 7am and the surgeon came to see you at 12.20?????? I was having my surgery at 10;20 with admission at 7am xxx

thats not good when they know he wasnt in the building, i was shocked mine stood in the doorway and asked to see them, with the door open, i am like you it is how they look after that matters, its early days for me and still in alot of pain and discomfort, cant wait till friday till i can see what they look like xx hope you recover well too hunny xx

Yes Karolina, I didn’t go down for surgery until 2 ! When he came in and spoke to me he said 20 mins then left me another hour and a half ! Xxx thanks Anne Marie I agree very unprofessional asking to see them from the corridor ! Good luck, rest up ! Xxx

Really sorry u girls had a bad time 🙁 I had a really gd experience with them nurses were lovely she even buttered and put my jam on my toast for me xx

Sorry to hear quite a few of you had bad experience. It’s quite a nerve wracking and expensive procedure as it is without having decent service on top. I hope the moderator reads people’s commements and feeds back to management. I hope I’m one of the lucky ones that has good service. I’m an overnight stay so the dinner best not be tea and toast or il be sending the other half out for KFC! Lol xx

Hi hannah, I had a similar experience to you @ Fitzroy. I was shoved into one of the Emergency rooms, even though I wasn’t an emergency. It was freezing in my room too and some of the nurses were rude and quite rough with me after the surgery. As soon as I walked into my room I was shocked (I don’t know what I was expecting) but it was a tiny cold dingy room and I turned round to my boyfriend and said is this a joke? Lol. My admission was 7am and I didnt go down until 1pm. A few hours after the surgery I just wanted to go home and they said I needed to wait for the doctor to bring me my antibiotics etc. We then waited another 3 hours for this doctor who didn’t turn up so my boyfriend went and found the nurse and she was like omg what are you still doing here? We thought you had gone home, you shouldn’t still be here? The doctor had forgotten about us… It wasn’t necessarily a bad experience but I was expecting alot better considering the money that was paid 🙂 loving my boobs though and I guess that’s all that matters at the end of the day xx

Definitley Amber, that is the most important thing and so glad you love your new puppies ! But yes what a disappointment and doesn’t set good standards for the quality of work you may receive when treated like that. Good luck xxx

It seems to be really hit and miss, I’m sorry you had such a bad experience Hannah 🙁 I haven’t had my surgery yet and am worried about this. I just hope all you girls that have had bad experiences with treatment are at least happy with the outcome of the surgery xx

It is Kirsty I agree, hit or miss. What a shame though with a company that has such potential. This forum is one of the good parts letting people talk and share their experiences and advice, amazing and probably brings them a lot more business because of it. It’s just a shame that the basics caring staff are not there at the point of the journey you need them most. Good luck Kirsty I hope everything goes well for you ! Xxx

Got there for 11 and ended up going down at 4, I was the last (12th) I feel like they could have got their timings slightly better and don’t feel I needed to be here that early but I suppose they’ve got their reasons. The aftercare has been amazing so far though, I’m currently in my room and te nurses have probably been in about 10 times and very helpful. Keep asking me if I need any more pain relief and if I’d like some more drinks also helped me with getting up and going to the toilet xx

Yeah it is a shame, I wonder if they think they can get away with it because they know people go to them anyway just for the reputation of the surgeons… I’ll keep my fingers crossed that they’re nice to me when I go in for mine! Thank you 🙂 hope you don’t mind if I add you 🙂 x

I’m there on Friday admission 10am, I’m an over night stay for a double Room with my friend, fingers crossed we get good aftercare slightly worried now. X

I had my op up north everyone was fantastic.. im thinking of having my next op with a diff surgeon only because i want to go quite large so i would be at fitzroy reading all this is putting me right off xx
