So my surgery date is quickly approching and im starting to absolutly poo my pants. I dont think im worried about the pain but more so about being gput to sleep. This will be the 1st time. What should i expect? Really dont want to panic and act like a fool Xx
Honestly don’t worry it’s the best part. The way it happened for me was I went into the room and lay down and a nice lady put a cannula in my hand while chatting about life. Then the anesthetist asked me my name and date of birth and at the same time injected something into the cannula. They then wheeled me into the next room and he said you might feel sleepy. That’s the last thing I remember. Next thing I knew they were waking me up and I just had the most amazing little sleep! Xx
I’ve had a few operations before, it’s quite scary when you think about being put to sleep but really it’s fine. Just try to relax, you might be asked to count down from 10, you don’t even realise you are falling asleep. Waking up is probably worse as you are still quite drowsy so don’t really know what’s happening haha. All totally fine though, I’m sure you will be in safe hands ???? Xxx
I was worried about that part but it’s honestly fine. I just talked about loads of random stuff with the anaesthetist and told him just to do it and not let me know. He was lovely and really helped me relax. Before you know it, you’re waking up in recovery. Xx
Aww thanks girls. I think il just talk crap to get myself through it haha. Ahhhhh only 12 days to go xx
I’m totally the same that’s all I’m worried about at the minute! My friend got her boobs done last year and I told her she was being daft for worrying about it and that it would be fine and when she woke up she said I was right and it wasn’t bad at all, then I booked my surgery and even though I know it will be ok I’m panicking and she’s telling me what I first told her haha! xx
It’s absolutely fine Hun, if you go with it it’s honestly the best part!!
The anaesthetist and assistant are there to put your mind at ease, they’ll chat to you about your job/life etc whilst they’re going about their business.
Before my anaesthetic he injected a rather large dose of muscle relaxant into my cannula, after about 20 seconds I could feel it working….honestly just fuzzy like you’ve had far too many glasses of wine, then came the magic medicine ha, after that was injected I don’t remember anything after about 5 seconds….woke up in recovery, felt like I’d been out a minute and asked if I was at a party!! Haha xx
I was really worried about it because id never had an operation before, i didnt have a GA i had twilight sedation an was really worried that i was going to be awake for it. It all went fine had my canular in while i was chatting away to the nurse on the other side of me. The anethetist flushed some water through he said it was to help with dehydration for afterwards then he starts putting the sedation in which i didnt realise until the nurse asked how i felt. I told her i felt abit woozy an blury thats the last thing i remember. I came round thinking id not had it done yet lol the sedation is brilliant though less side effects afterwards. I got up from the operating table myself an sat in a wheelchair to go to my room had some coffee an toast an was discharged less than an hour and a half after id come out of surgery its brilliant stuff lol xx
Hi babe. I had my op Sunday and was the same. Absolutely nothing to worry about. You’ll be out before you realise they’ve even given you anything they are amazing! Xxx
