    BRA BUYING TIPS

I personally found my boobs took a while to soften and be able to wear a bra

6 weeks was too early for me so I wore soft bras as said earlier for 9 weeks then popped to the shops to buy some bras!

even at 9 weeks I couldn’t wear padded bras only underwired as they still were quite firm as I had no tissue before hand so be aware if you go from flat/flat not to be too disappointed it takes time to gain a cleavage.

anyway bought some padded princesse tam tam numbers and a wonderbra and bloody hell they look massive when i want them to be!! and non padded see through pieces for day wear!!

p.s – and don’t go too mad too soon buying lots as some girls grew after 6 weeks so had to buy more afterwards at an extra cost!

Hi girls, thought id add a bit.

You will get bloating and find it hard to go to the toliet, eat plenty of fresh, veg and try and keep away from refined food. Whole wheat food. I find all bran a life saver, with plenty of orange juice. Apricots are also very good.

Over the counter ducolax is great.

Keep moving and walk around the house. x

V pillow is a must. Lots and lots of water. Move everything so you can reach it easily when you get home -the top of the fridge felt impossible at the start!

A cotton sports bra where possible, especially if you have sensitive skin – I came out in a rash 11 days po due to wearing a bra 24/7 and had to buy another.

For swelling: use a cold compress for the first 48 hours and a warm compress after 48 hours.

I was swollen for about 2 weeks and it really went down a lot after using hot water bottles under my arms x

    As mentioned earlier:

-Get some laxatives, cos you will more than likely be constipated from all the drugs- it’s horrible!

-You will probably find that your boobs become numb from the skin being stretched. Buy some thick body butter/bio oil and start rubbing it into the skin in circular motions, gently. (I started doing this at day 7.) This will encourage the skin to repair itself and you’ll find that the numbing goes away.

-Buy a bra which is a band size or 2 bigger than what you’d normally wear. I found that the bra line sat directly on my wounds and this can be painful/very uncomfortable!

-Drink plenty of water throughout the day, for at least 2 weeks.

-Take your drugs religiously, around the clock- don’t be in pain when you don’t need to be!

-Always get someone to help you out of bed/get you up when you’re lying down. You don’t want to strain yourself by doing too much!

    That’s all I can think of for now… x

2 V pillows: 1 memory foam, 1 regular and use like a ski slope? then fill in the holes with other pillows. I slept REALLY well and i always have slept on my tummy!

Dulcolax was RUBBISH. I had to go and buy lactolose and drink A LOT of it!!!

Rescue Remedy Night time helped me sleep too.

    Vit C and Multi Vits.

If you have any control over which car you drive afterwards… do NOT go for a Mini Cooper S. I haven’t been able to drive mine for 4 weeks and have had to swap with my husband… he is NOT happy at all!!!!

Posting this list as,this was newboobies answer to a question on the forum.

What shall I ask at my surgeons appointment,I personally thought her answer was very good, this is her list.

The aftercare policy and what happens about complications (how long are you covered)

    Type of implants available

What placement he suggests and why

    Sizes he recommends

    Sports bra recommendation if any

Supplements you can take to speed recovery

How long you’ll need off to recover

    When you can start exercising

What you can and can’t do while recovering

How many followup appointments you will get with him

    About the surgery itself

What you need to take to the op with you

Anything else you can think of x

When you can wear bras le mystere are amazing they are made especially for implants and believe me you can tell the difference. I bought 2 from harrods for £135.00 and then saw them for cheaper on the Internet 

I’d fallen in love with how it fit and didn’t care about the price ,since doing my boobs I hate how bras feel  finally I found a bra that felt and looked good so bought 2 in different colours I think mine is called the isabelle? I’ve since learned even Oprah Winfrey had them in her favorite things list! They are amazing!

Don’t know if sports bras were covered, but when you start exercising again, the shock absorber ones like this http://www.figleaves.com/uk/product.asp?product=Shock-Absorber-Max-Sports-Bra-Top-Level-4&product_id=BB-B4490&size=&colour=Reds are amazing for us bigger boobed ladies! Only thing i have found so far that holds me in nice and tight.

Also, for the first week or so post op, most important thing – get plenty of fresh air and sunlight, and drink lots of water to flush out toxins. You might be lucky and avoid pain/ complications, but nearly all of us get the boobie blues, the tips above will help ward them off or ease them.

DON’T worry about the size of your boobs for at least 3 months. They WILL change in size and shape for up to a year!!!

DON’T raise your arms above your head if you’ve had unders. You will probably feel like you can, but you shouldn’t, likewise for any sort of stretching, as your muscles are still healing and you need to give them time.

Probably not the most PC advice, but if you’re not in pain, don’t bother with the pain killers. They only serve to make you constipated. You can take neurofen or ibuprofen instead.

The V pillow is a Goddess send. Get one!!
