    Hi ladies

i had my strapping off on friday and have been left with two nasty sores that are weeping, i have put savlon on, but had to put tissue over it, as when they weep they stick to my bra, but they are sticking to the tissue so every time i change it, or take bra off it is open again, it is so sore, have just taken bra off, to let them both breath but boobs are feeling so heavy i dont want to do anything to make that go wrong, can anyone give me any more advice on this, as it is so painful do you think it is okay to take my macom bra off for a few hours to let these sores dry out?

Hello love, I had this. You need to use Savlon Dry Iodine spray. It’s basically a dry spray, the iodine will stop the weepiness and it makes them heal quicker. My gp told me to shower every day, no soap directly on the sores, just let the water / soap run over them. Pat dry then spray. I didn’t need to leave the bra off and you really shouldn’t so soon after your op.
It took about three days for mine to dry up.
You can go to the chemist and get iodine patches to put over the wounds but they don’t really let it dry out which is what you need!
Also, don’t use tissue, get some Meopore from the chemist. It’s just a dressing, you fold it and put it in your bra to stop the rubbing. If you find it has moved and you’re stuck to your bra just soak it with a wet flannel to get the bra off without pulling at the wounds. xxx

thank you hunny. my nurse saw my post and rang me immediately, Nottingham branch are fanastic, i cant fault them, i didnt want to bother her which what probably seems to be such a minor thing, i have put two plasters over them, which is what she would do if i saw her, i will keep doing the wash with plain water and pat dry etc, and hopefully they will dry out xxx
