I’m 5 weeks post op today, I feel like my left breast has dropped more than my right and they feel so uneven, I’m so happy with them other than this I just wondered if it’s normal and anyone else has had this?

I’m 3 months post op and have the same problem. Also have rippling in both breasts which is becoming quite uncomfortable 🙁 can’t see the surgeon due to coronavirus and was told I can’t email the surgeon as “they don’t do that”.

Can they not arrange an alternative solution maybe a video consultation? I don’t have an rippling thankfully but I think as you do they should see you about it

I don’t think that the difference is that bad. I’ve heard it’s normal for one to drop before the other one. Neither of mine have dropped yet but I hear that the breast on the side of your dominant hand usually drops later because the muscle is stronger on that side. Either way it should even out. I wouldn’t worry yet

@Shannon, Have yours evened up any? I am in a similar situation. I am 3 months post op and my right hasn’t dropped nearly as much as the left. The right has sat higher since I woke from my operation. It seems to be getting more noticable but thinking it’s because the left has now dropped and fluffed to where it’s meant to be leaving the right even further behind. I can also feel a bit of rippling on the bottom edge altho not visible. 3 month consultant appointment was cancelled and don’t seem able to get in touch with the clinic.
Just wondering if there is anything I could be doing as would hate to miss the boat if there is something that would help at this stage.

Hey, it’s evened out a little bit but isn’t the same. My 3 month app was cancelled too and was told I can’t have surgeons details to email him. My rippling has got worse too. I spoke to a nurse at mya and she said not to massage them as others have been saying on here, unless the surgeon has specifically said to massage them.

Due to COVID-19 we are dealing with unprecedented circumstances and the impact is significant, from operation movements, to a reduction in the number of available staff, the whole way that MYA is currently operating is not typical. Even the simplest of business activity is much more complicated than usual and all processes are taking much longer. Once again we apologise for this, we are working hard to return to our usual high standards.

Our physical clinics and hospitals are closed during this time to ensure the safety of patients and staff as well as assisting the NHS. When we are able to offer physical consultations we would be happy to arrange an appointment for you.

You can email patientqueries@mya.co.uk should you have further questions at this time.

@Shannon, glad it has dropped a bit. Can you actually see your rippling or just feel it? Mine is just at the bottom of the implant which I can feel more on the one that has dropped but I think it’s because I have very little breast tissue and the implant has very little covering it now it has moved down. It doesn’t actually bother me though.
The nurse told me at 6 weeks massage my higher one altho I have been quite inconsistent with this as don’t know exactly what I’m meant to be doing and how hard etc.

I am also unsure if the best thing is to spend some time braless to allow the high one to come down but don’t want to risk the other sagging. Or would a breast band help 🤔

At certain angles I can see it, like if I tilt forward or backwards, or when I’m lying down. But the feel of it is much worse at the moment. Feels like massive craters in my boobs. Can be quite sore to sleep on too.
I’m my experience, all the band did for me was cut my underarms. I spend my nights braless at the moment and can maybe see a slight improvement in the eveness of them.

@Shannon, I sent an email to my clinic today and was surprised to receive a reply from one of the surgeons. He said in most cases the asymmetry will correct between 3 and 6 months post op. He encouraged me massage the top area and to continue wearing a bra. This is obviously his advice and your surgeon may have different recommendations. I never asked about the rippling tho. Will keep fingers crossed they even up altho I can’t help feeling that this one is not gonna budge…. hope I’m wrong.

I don’t think mine will drop now. It’s been 4 months.

Mine are still numb underneath and one hasn’t dropped. I wouldn’t worry just yet x
