Just wondering what people’s opinions are on all the stigma that comes with having surgeries like BA?
When I went to my original consultation I remember thinking that it’s good how normal cosmetic surgery is due to the media these days, thinking there would be a lot less stigma. But just standing outside the MYA clinic waiting to be buzzed in a few people walking past made comments, and I was mindblown.
I remember telling my best friend and she reacted horribly, saying that I look fine the way I am and it’s such a waste of money and that I’m not a fake bimbo and don’t want to look like one. After that I was so terrified that I hid it from my mum and lied to work about the reason I need 2 weeks off and decided I’d never tell anyone about my BA and just fake it.

But it’s so sad that when you’re really excited about something, you can’t talk about it because people see it as a negative, it’s sad that so many of us feel scared to tell our parents, friends, sometimes even spouses?
I realised that by letting myself feel embarrassed I was letting the whole stigma win. So despite my worries about it, im trying to just own the fact I will have beautiful fake boobies.
Sorry for such a long post but I’ve been really struggling with it and thought it’d be interesting to see how the stigma surrounding cosmetic surgery has affected others!

Hey hun I totally understand where your coming from. I’m a secondary school teacher and quite modest at work due to the profession. I haven’t told all of my mates because I’m certain they would have negative things to say. I told a select few and focused on my happiness. Post op nearly five months now and I’m glad I went for ias my confidence has soared, I feel a lot more womanly and happy in myself. I work hard for my money and as far as I’m concerned if I’m paying for it and it’s going to make me happy I couldn’t care less what someones opinion is.

Ive realised in life if you allow someone to pass a comment or judgement on you it gives them entitlement or makes them feel more important than your feelings about you when in reality ur feelings really come first. So if u go ahead or choose not to, make sure it’s for your good and don’t let others make u feel bad for your choices fx

I hate the stigma too! I actually feel embarresed to tell people im having it done because i dont want them to judge me! Ive only told my close family and friends and held it off as long as possible before telling work but i had to tell them at some point as i need quite a lot of time off because of the work i do. I refuse to tell my clients why im going to be off for so long so i am currently thinking of a reason to tell them xx

There’s a stigma behind everything, I get it for having blonde hair lol,
just remember your doing it for you, tell who you want and what you want no one else needs to know your business, your not happy and your changing it so go you!!! xx

I can’t agree more, I’ve only told a handful of people, I’ve booked a couple of weeks holiday of work, I will have to go back to light duties due to being a career which will be fun when the questions start but by then it won’t matter what people think as it will all be done. X

Tbh, I used to worry like people are going to frown upon it etc but now I really don’t care people are going to notice that I’ve had it done who knew me before I got them done I’m not going to deny it, i paid a lot of money & worked hard for these babies lol 🙂 I’m proud to tell people as this is what I have been dreaming of for years. It’s your life, your body, you choices, I wouldn’t care what anyone else thought 🙂

I had very supportive family & friends & boyfriend which helped also.
