So the basic details before a girly whirlwind of chaos and unicorns spew from my fingertips:

The implant: I have chosen a 400cc textured round silicone implant.
Position: It will be sub fascia
Surgeon: The surgery will be performed by Dr Syed Mashhadi.
    When: Sunday 24th March
    Where: Fitzroy in London

    What am I working with?
I currently am a 36B at best. I know thats a bit more than what some other women have but at the end of the day, I am not happy with them and when I tried and put those bubbles of gloop in my bra at the consultation… it was like my whole body transformed – but I’ll talk more about my consultation and stuff below!

Prepare for the unicorns and glittery chaos!

So my journey started exactly like it did with a consultation the first time I went to MYA about 7 years ago (I did not go through with it because at the time I was in my teens and people convinced me I may still grow). This time however I was serious about my decision and so I arrived in Chelmsford (parking in waterlane(?) car park as no onsite parking) for a very friendly consultation running me through the basics. in January I met my Patient Co-Ordinator, Donna, and I have every confidence she is advising me and looking after me to the highest standard. I left that meeting absolutely buzzing! I had booked in for a surgical consultation and I might have danced in the street a little bit!

So the next few weeks were me looking at finance options, sorry MYA but as affordable as the packages were that you offered, the interest rates were a touch too steep comparatively. In the end I decided on Sainsbury’s to help me out with getting the ball rolling financially but before I signed on for that loan I first had to meet Dr Syed Mashhadi.

Now I am sure I am not the first patient of his to google him a thousand and one times and that is literally what I did until my surgery. I found all great things, nothing negative and from what I saw online and from the paperwork Donna gave to me, I was impressed by Dr Mashhadi.

So I arrived for my surgical consult with the good Dr and felt very comfortable and confident in his knowledge and capabilities. Measurements were taken, history ran through and he explained everything to me in a way that really was understandable. He, ofcourse, asked me what I had thought about and what I wanted. I explained honestly that I had not really set anything in stone in my mind as I wanted to get his expert opinion on what would be best for me and the end result. All decisions were made by myself freely with complete confidence in the information offered to me by Dr Mashhadi and his assessment of my own breasts. I knew that at the end of the day, he would want the end result to look good too as it would be his name on it!

I was completely unaware of the sub fascia placement (under the fatty layer that sits on top of the muscle) and am so grateful that was explained to me. It has probably saved me a lot of pain and recovery time as before this I had seen a lot of You tube videos and was dreading the under muscle option I thought would be recommended to me – although I understand for some women under is best for them, I was very happy to hear that in my case it would make no difference to my boobs if I went under or sub fascia!

The came picking the implant size. I had no clue where to start other than I knew I wanted a high profile implant because I wanted my side on silhouette to have feminine curves and I think I have a petite frame. I started by trying on a 300 or 350cc high profile, which was getting there but It just was not quite there yet. I laughed and confessed a bit of boob greed and tried a few higher sizes before landing on the 400cc.

It was like a WEDDING DRESS moment! I know that sounds dramatic but honestly, I was rather taken aback. It was like I was finally seeing me in the mirror. I was finally happy, not just with my boobs but my entire figure. I could feel my unicorns galloping off and so I gathered up my logical mind and started analysing. I sucked in the belly fat I planned to lose and imagine my thighs toned, glutes like Kim K (because I will totally achieve that one day) and reviewed my feelings. Yes, I liked this size BUT definitely no bigger. I did not want to end up looking completely top heavy. My figure had to be balanced. Before I could bask a moment longer in my instagram model-esque confidence I whipped the Jelly fish hitch hikers out of my bra and confirmed 400cc was the one for me. I could have stood and enjoyed my speechless wedding dress like moment for alot longer!

After the surgical consult, the wonderful Nurse Abby took me to see Donna who took my deposit for the surgery, booked the surgery and we went through finances. Completely over the moon I booked the pre assessment for the very next day, today.

So today I met with Abby, we went through all the risks and I made sure my partner was with me so he knew what care I may need post op. Abby is very friendly and I have full confidence in her looking after me and keeping an eye on me and my progress. She had a lot of advice and savvy tricks to do to make myself more comfortable post op which I am sure I shall utilise and be very grateful for.

She told me that if I was journeying more than 70 miles back home on the day it would put me at greater risk and so I decided to stay in a hotel and she was able to recommend one close to the Fitzroy clinic. Because I was a nurse a few years ago I had to have some MRSA swabs done – nothing to worry about however just something I was unware of that others also may not be. They were free of course and so no extra costs incurred. I ordered my Macom Bra’s through them however and that, I believe, was the only extra thing I paid for.

Before I left for home I asked a lady in reception if I could try on the 400cc again. She was very happy to accommodate me and also super friendly. I tried two 400cc on and this time I took my time instead of letting my unicorns run away and getting all giggly. Yes, 400cc was right for me. My partner was present and I showed him what they would look like – only because he seemed very anxious after the surgical consult which he was not present for and I wanted to reassure him that I was not doing anything silly. They’re my boobs after all!

Soon as I got home I confirmed my entire balance had been paid and went shopping! I got myself a senegol pillow (a very long U pillow) and a travel pillow. Please let me know anything else you guys found useful or think would be for recovery!

I also booked myself into the recommended and closest hotel to the Fitzroy clinic. I booked two nights. My surgery is on Sunday the 24th March and I would be a day case. I could be asked to arrive from 7am onwards and I hate car journeys! Let alone long ones into London. For that reason I have decided I’ll check into the hotel on Saturday and make sure I have everything sorted and prepared. Checkout would be on Monday at which point I will journey back home. I am in the middle of trying to move house to Corby however and so If my address does change to Corby, I plan to stay with relatives in Hertfordshire or Essex before continuing onto Corby.

So that is pretty much it up to this point! Super excited and super happy with everyone and their professional ability so far. Please feel free to share your stories with me and your excitement! I certainly plan to share my journey all the way through with pictures and a youtube video at the end of it all!

I’m sure you’ll get along great with all the staff, Donna has first hand experience with Breast enlargement too so she is great to talk to. We have rather similar stats so I’ll add you on Instagram as I am most active there and that’ll give you a good idea of my before and after x
