I see a lot of people saying we can wear underwired from 6 weeks but my nurse told me to go as long as possible wearing non wired as they’re still changing up to 1 year post op and the wired bras push them up. I’m 10wpo and still wear the sports bras every day unless I’m wearing a top where you can see them. Bought matalan non-wired t-shirt bras for when I need something a bit nicer. She did say I could wear wired for a few hours if I was going on a night out etc xx
They say 6 weeks you can wear a wired bra but Lydia is right Hun the longer you go with out one the better it is also wear your post op bra for bed for as long as possiable/life as it help prevent sagging and implants are weights that will sag eventually xxxx
@lydia @stacey
I’m going to keep wearing my Macom sports bra to bed every night, as I definitely want to keep them looking good for as long as possible. Sorry if this is a dum question but why is wearing a wired bra and them being pushed up a bad thing? The only other bra I have is my Calvin Klein sports bra … am I better off wearing this one? Xxx
@sophiex26x I think it’s something to do with the implant in the pocket. If they’re pushed up I suppose they’re likely to heal like that and so they’re not quite in the right place. I still had swelling at 7wpo when I saw my nurse so that was also an issue. With her saying that they change up to 1 year after I think another issue is a bra ending up not being the right size after a while and if it’s being worn daily then it might not do your boobs much good! I’ve just read a post on here where someone’s gone up a size after 9 months. Have you had your 6wpo appointment yet? I suppose if they’ve fully dropped and you have no swelling then the nurse might say it’s ok xx
And I don’t know about the calvin klein bras. I’ve asked for one for xmas to try. Not 100% sure if they’re supportive or not. Check out the non-wired tshirt bras in matalan though. It’s a pack of 2, black and white for £8 I think.
