Hi Beth, it’s there to push the muscle back down and help the implant drop. im 5 weeks post op and was told to wear it until 6 weeks just to help them along. Hope this helps, my advice would be to wear it for as long as the advise x

Hi Beth, you do get used to the breast band Hun and its def worth wearing it. Try loosening it a little bit. I hand washed mine too and it made it a little softer.

3 days PO I was stuck in bed! Some girls don’t seems to get any pain but I did. I was shuffling around the house like an old woman with my shoulders hunched forward as I couldn’t straighten up. I struggled to get up off the bed or sofa without help and even with meds I was in pain unless I was sat down. I got quite depressed to as I was sick of being in pain and was cross with myself as id chosen to put myself through it. I never thought id feel OK again. But you do! Honestly just ride it out. By day 10 I felt back to normal almost and now day 16 im back at work and on no pain medication.
I promise you will feel better soon xx

I would try move about a bit though even though you are in pain, I found that id stiffen up if I stayed in bed or on the sofa and it made it worse so id try go for little walks to loosen up and circled my shoulders too as they were getting really tight.
Book yourself into the hair dressers for a nice blow dry for sat or the beginning of next week so you have something to look forward to? xx

Aww chicken I don’t think you are the only one to go through that. You certainly loose all your dignity don’t you!
I had a week off work too but I ended up taking an extra two days off as sick as there was no way I could have gone in and i work in an office so its not exactly strenuous! . I really struggled once my cocodamol ran out so I went to see my GP and she prescribed some more, i was taking a lot of pain relief but it was far better than being in pain. Like i say by day 10 i was feeling so much better it seemed to almost happen over night and now i feel back to normal. xx

Hope that’s happens to me to I’ve lost all dignity haha it’s so embarrassing he also has to pull my pants up and down to ? I can’t wait for this to get better I don’t get sick pay at work I’m a nurse and I think I’d get sacked if I went on the sick because it’s self inflicted it wasn’t for health reasons so now I’m worrying and an emotional wreck xxxx

Can you change your shifts around? Try not to worry, honestly once you start feeling better is happens really fast. What pain relief are you on? My GP told me to take 1 paracetamol and 1 cocodamol 4 x a day and 1 x 400mg ibuprofen 3 x per day, i also had to take a stomach protector as i’m sensitive to ibuprofen. This really helped me stay on top of the pain.
Just remember you are only 3 days PO don’t be so hard on yourself xx When are you due back at work? xx

See how you get on today chick, you still have 4 days of recovery before you are back at work so don’t stress too much.
As a nurse do you have a lot of lifting to do? xx

Im really surprised you were told 7 days? I was told id need 7 days off for an office based job. You know its recommended no heaving lifting for 6 weeks? It might be worth posting on here to see if their are any other nurses and what their experiences have been. Im sure ive read a thread but it might not have been on this site.
Like Janelle sais Ice Packs are great and really help with the swelling too and head packs or a hot water bottle for your back if it starts to ache from sleeping propped up.
Other than thep ain are you happy with your results?? I still cant believe ive actually had it done!! I cant wait to go shopping xx
