Hi Suzanne, I had my ba done on Friday. I have a 6, 4 & very clingy 3 year old! You will need a bit of help for a few days my partner had from Friday until the weds off. You are very uncomfortable for a few days & for me lifting my arms ever was very painful! You have to give your new boobies time to heal without the risk of pulling on your stitches ect. I am day 6 post op & am feeling more comfatable but only just. You will definitely need a little help in the first week with housework ect but I have been doing the school runs just a little slower lol! Hope this helps xx

    Hi Suzanne,
I am currently around 4 months post op, and from my experience you will definitely need help with your little ones for at least a week. I had my husband at home for 10 days and cried when he went back to work because I still didn’t feel ready to handle things alone lol. I have a 6 year old and twins 3 years old and so didn’t really need to do any lifting but just the general running around cooking, cleaning and caring for the kids was still tough. It’s simple things like not being able to reach your top kitchen cupboards for cups and plates or carry heavy loads of washing etc that got to me, as a mum your days are so full on and it really does slow you down for a while. You also need to consider that you won’t be able to drive for a week or so. I drove on day 11 and found it so uncomfortable that it didn’t even try for another 5-6 days.
Obviously everyone is different and some recover much quicker than others. But if you are going to go ahead then I would make sure you have help in place for at least a week and if you feel able to cope sooner without someone helping then that’s great, but at least you have the back up if it’s needed! It’s so important to look after yourself and give plenty of time for rest and recovery. Good luck xx

You will know more after a consultation if your having indeed recovery time is longer than overs so everyone is different x

    Hi Suzanne
aww, it is all so confusing and worrying in the early stages of consultations and waiting for the op, I was a mess lol!
I went from an A cup and had 400cc partials. I am now measuring at a 32dd.
Please try not to worry or stress about it all too much, go for a consultation and see what they advise. With me personally I was advised to have hubby home for a week. Recovery is obviously so different for everyone and having your implant placed over the muscle as opposed to under/partial is supposed to be easier afterwards …. although I have friends who had overs and needed lots of help after as well. For me I wasn’t willing to push myself at all afterwards, after paying all that money and going through surgery I didn’t want to risk anything going wrong. It’s frustrating in the early days, but will pay off in terms of your long term recovery. Xx
