Hi everyone im new and looking for a bit of advice.
Ive always been unhappy about my boobs but ive never been in the position to change it. Theres nothing medically wrong with them they’re just not nice. Ive went to my dr a year ago but he said i didnt fit the criteria…now my gps left im goin back to try again and i was wondering if anyone cud tell me what wud help me get it? I cant pay for them myself and im blacklisted so thats not an option.
Thanks xx
Can you not join the piggybank scheme and save that way honey.xxx
i saw my doctor about this, i was very depressed and to be honest desperate, i felt disgusting and it got me down so much!! GP took all my info and sent it off to NHS… got a letter back DECISION DENIED! i was told that the NHS do not help with women who are not happy with their breasts and that basically they need the money for more important things!
they have gone very strick on this sort of thing, basically unless you have 1 breast more than two cup sizes diffrent or tubular breasts they wont even look at you, if you are depressed you have to be having counciling, on anti depresents etc, they very rarely give breast enlargement on the nhs now if your just unhappy bout having small boobs xx
yep i got told i should attend counciling!
Well personally I wouldn’t even dare trying, not when cancer patients are being refused vital drugs that could grant them an extra six months with their loved ones.
You say there is nothing medically wrong with them, yet you’re asking us how to get around the questions in order to get a breast enlargement from the NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE?! It’s there to help us when we need it most, not when you fancy getting some bigger breasts on a whim. Shameless.
The girls on here work very hard to afford their boob jobs, including saving and waiting. Why not work your arse off, get some money saved and feel happy in yourself that you EARNT it and deserve it because of your hard work? A lot more satisfying IMO.
Argh, that came across as bitchy. It wasn’t meant to be bitchy. X
Hey JB I agree with you totally. However, when I first started thinking about a BA I admit, the first thing I did was ask in every forum “how do i get a boob job on the nhs”!! The OP just sounds like she only just started looking into this. No harm in asking.
Tara the others are right about the criteria being very strict. I also went to my doctor at first and they told me the same thing. You’d have to undergo counselling for at least a year (at your own expense), and jump through a million other hoops. It’s entirely possible to save up like everyone else here has done. If you have to save for a year or more, then so be it. Worth it for new boobies Good luck xx
to be honest **JB** your comment was Harsh! i don’t feel shameless for asking !! i worked my arse of and had alot off outgoings so couldnt afford it! but being in that situation havin no confidence,, and feelin utter shite made me depressed. i read about girls as young as 18 gettin it done on the NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE so i thought id try myself! i felt i had no where else to turn!
hi hun, i went to my gp about 2 years ago as i was depressed about my breasts, i didnt even know you could get 1 on the nhs at the time she told me about it and reffered me.
my issues started after i had my daughter ive always had small boobs but it never botherd me untill i was walking down the road with my daughter in the pram and walked past some builders and 1 of them said ”you can tell she doesnt feed that baby herself” then they all laughed.
that was the start of 2 years of hell id have panic attacks when i went out becouse i thought people were laughing at me, my relationship broke down and getting myself to work was a daily struggle.
anyway i had 6mths of councilling and it was my life saver my councilor was fantastic she didnt make me feel silly or that i was overacting and within the 6mths i was off my medication.
i would highly recommend counciling if its depressing you that much hun.
anyway i got refused by the nhs but it just made me even more determind to have it done.
im a single mum and also blacklisted but it only took me 18mths to save, its amazing what you can do when you want somthing bad enough.
i do sympathise with you hun ive been there and its not nice.
try selling things on ebay, start a boobie jar for all your loose change and put money each mth in the piggy bank scheme that way you cant touch it. x
agree with you Debs x
debs so sorry to hear you had such a bad time, well done to you for pulling yourself outta of it, and going about getting your boobs through grafting and saving yourself, theres no better satisfaction than wanting something and going out and getting it yourself without the help of others, i too am i single mum who saved up for my boobies and know i can be hard going sometimes xx
thanks littlemiss, i can honestly say tho that with out the counciling i probably wouldnt have done it.
im now 3mths po and yes your right it does feel great, im back to my old self again and the last 4 years now just seem like a bad dream, funny what a pair of boobies can do to you lol x
Thanks for the advice girls its much appreciated. I literally have no money and i know its easy to save for some but my circumstances arnt easy but id rather not get into that over the internet. I thought about goin for councilling but tbh i know the problem is my boobs, i dont need to pay someone to try n find some underlying self esteem issue cos there isnt one lol. Thanks again x
tara i hope get your boobies x i got mine hun so it does happen xx good luck with whatever route you take x
I aslo looked into the nhs a few years ago as I got very depressed over mine after my last two kids……I would not look at myself or let my hubby see me either.
I would cry all the time,I tried cuttin them off and would of rather not of been here then keep living with the way I looked.
I struggled for ages to get over it I was on anit depression tablets too……I pulled myself through it came out the other side.
I hope things work out for you hun xxx

Tara babes i know its hard saving such a large amount of money especially when its something that affects you so badly. You wont get anywhere going through the NHS hun as they really have become so strict. Save huni, even if it takes years the feeling you get when you have your brand new boobies is emense….you wont care how long you’ve had to wait for it. JB that came across bitchy because it was…..she wants advice not to be looked down upon. Its not about whether or not you agree with it.
Good luck babes xxx
LadyC, I’m sorry you felt my comment was harsh. In hindsight I could’ve worded it a bit better.
But I also work my arse off, I have a young daughter and a huge outgoings. I had a cup size difference in my boobs before I had them done and it did severely knocked my confidence, I never looked good pre op and clothes/bras never fitted properly. I hated my appearance and always felt ugly. I didn’t “need” a boob job, it was purely to make me deep better about myself. I can’t afford it, the balance is on a credit card that I’m paying off month by month… just. Getting a BA on the NHS just never crossed my mind, it just seems so wrong when so many people who need and deserve life saving / life changing proceedures, medication are being denied because of the economic state of this country has the NHS feeling the squeeze. It just doesn’t sit right with me but that’s just my opinion.
My sister in law had a boob job on the NHS. She had a gastric band fitted and lost a considerable amount of weight, she paid for the gastric band herself yet expected the tax payer to foot the bill for her boobs. She claimed she suffered back pain… She didn’t, her boobs were fine, granted they were saggy but what can you expect after 4 stone weight loss. My opinion is that she should’ve paid for the boob job herself..
Ticky88 – I did give advice. I said to save and feel 100x better about herself for working her backside off to earn and afford it. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, she said in her original post that there is nothing medically wrong with them, so why would she seek a boob job from the NHS? Just because “they don’t look nice” Implants won’t solve the lack of confidence or perhaps underlying physiological issues.
I know there is no need to debate the morals and it’s good that OP is asking around for advice, but why come to the forum of MYA (PRIVATE) to ask, when it obvious all of us girls are saving and paying out of our own pockets.
Tara88 – I’m sorry if my comments upset you. I do understand that girls get BA on NHS without good reason and can completely understand why you’d want to try. Especially when you’re skint etc. I thought I’d never be able to afford a BA and was so set on getting a loan through MYA which would mean I’d be paying £6000+ after interest (£99 per month payments) until my PC told me about 0% interest credit cards. I now have a maxed out credit card but some pretty amazing boobies. It CAN happen, you’ve just got to make it happen. I wish you all the luck in the world and I understand how horrible it is to feel so low about your body. Why not try the MYA piggy bank scheme? Or take up a part time Saturday job and use all you earn towards your boobies? Xx
well well well, the subject of NHS titties has caused up roar yet again…
problem is it is a emotive issue… but hurtful things have been said and without knowing someones personal circumstances surely we should not judge, EH?

The reason for my comments is because she HAS explained her personal circumstances
“Ive always been unhappy about my boobs but ive never been in the position to change it. Theres nothing medically wrong with them they’re just not nice. Ive went to my dr a year ago but he said i didnt fit the criteria.”
That to me read, “I can’t afford to pay for a boob job, but I don’t like my boobs so want a free boob job at the cost of the NHS” because that’s basically what she said. Hence my comments.
I suppose if you don’t ask you don’t get. This country is arse about face with everything else so if you have the guts to go and ask then why not? I personally didn’t dare ask.
I can see the debate for both sides totally though and would be VERY pissed off if for example a member of my family were refused treatment for something that was life threatening due to funding to have one of my friends/member of my family to get a BA on the NHS just because they weren’t aesthetically pleasing to them (not including asymmetry as that must be awful) xxx
I have tubular breasts and had no idea you could get it on the NHS. But personally I am so glad I went private. I haven’t resented/thought twice about dishing out that amount of money (even though it is a huge amount to me, being a student etc) because the whole service has been faultless. Not to mention the waiting lists on the NHS and I probably would have had to have lost a load of weight to even be considered for the surgery. There are far too many hoops to jump through, if you ask me. Let’s be fair, the NHS isn’t doing a great job as it is now. xx
And regarding asymmetry, my friend had hers ‘corrected’ on the NHS 10 years ago and they’ve made a total mess of the boob that was smaller. I can tell you the whole story, but in short- it was horrific! x
Personally I think the Nhs do a great job, during my career I have met some of the best doctors and nurses you could ask for. Nurses are overworked and underpaid so don’t let the few who let the side down make u think the Nhs are doing a bad job. I’m sorry you feel like that about the nhs.
Just fighting their corner lol
You don’t go into care work for the money thats for sure! My friend is a nurse and shes on less money than me, makes me feel sick to the stomach to be honest. xxx
You didnt really give any advice JB u told her to do exactly what she stated she couldnt. Shes already said theres no underlying issue and you tell her to go for councilling. Your advice is invalid and offensive…..as for the whole mya is a private forum thats a crock of crap because theres plenty of patients from different companys that come on here.
I wouldnt go for a boob job on the nhs personally but i pay tax and id rather she got something life changing from our system rather than it goin to treat wasters
Sarah i agree the nhs do an amazing job…. The ones that critisise are the ones that have never been seriously ill or the ones that dont wrk to pay into the system x
Well said ticky hun xx
I say go for it. id rather pay my taxes to make someone happy,,, than to encourage people who dont want to work and can work/take drugs/alcohol and get more than me on benefits a month when i work 12hr shifts!! for example my baby machine sister who is quite capable of workibg, but wont!! free perscriptions, free gym membership with personal trainer etc etc
i think we pay for a lot worse things with our taxes.
plus the money for.cosmetic surgery comes out of a completely diff pot to the ones of cancer patients… bit unfair to put that on someone
well said fairy hun xx
It annoys me. this forun us for advice not to be slated. the poor girl is looking at it as an option.
xx
i agree hun…….when people get bitchy i think its terrible it make some girls not want to come on and seak help.when like you say thats what its here for.
the forum is great i would not be where i am today with out it and all u fab girls….i got so much fab advice from you all, certain girls were so great and cant thank you enough….including yourself hun and ticky husk nikki cuks claure karen.
but then u get some people that wreck it for others…..
omg dont i go on xx
I remember a thread like this last time and the poor girl left the forum and had to come back under a different name … not at all fair xx
I don’t think it was meant to be bitchy ladies, she was stating her opinion that’s all. She could have put it more tactfully but she admitted that herself. It’s a strong subject that is going to gain a whole wealth of different opinions.
I can understand both sides of the debate and will place my bum firmly on the fence lol. xxx
omg thats terrible
u should be able to come here and ask for advice without getting slated….its just not fair !!!
I think more advice should of been given rather than a lot of the slating that has been given to this post. Even though she said nothing is medically wrong with her boobs nobody gave her chance to explain in deeper what her issues were.
I have never been down the NHS route because it didnt appeal to me, I was so ashamed of my boobs that I didnt want to put myself through the counselling and explaining etc of my issues (i was that ashamed of them)I even developed anorexia in the belief that my body would eat the extra skin that had been made, so even though she has just stated that ‘they are just not nice’ we don’t know her deeper feelings.
I have also seen my mother die from cancer and she was denied the drugs that she needed to give her extra time with me and my sisters, in all honesty I took more offence to the medicine being offered to the local druggies etc than I did for people being offered surgery as drugs are a choice and we can’t always help the way our bodies look.e
Rachel
Thanks Fairy. I did notice the bitchy and offensive “advice” but didnt want to rise to it tbh. I really didnt want anyones opinions on what im doing is right or wrong tbh, i can get that anywhere. I would like to say that i paid for 10years into the system so im by know means a scrounger. I suffered an extremely aggresive rape which made me lose weight meaning i also lost volume from my breasts. Theyre by know means awful but theyre not what they were.
Thanks again to the girls that have offered constructive advice x
My point exactly … Oersonal circumstances unknown!
tara hun the gp may refer u, u will then have a consultation with a nhs surgeon. they will prob refer u for councilling as thats the process. even after all this they can reject u.
its a long long emotional process with the nhs hun.
xxx
Hey, ive just started the piggy bank scheme and which u can open with £20! my pc said there is no set time you have to fill it and you can put as little or as much in as you like. you can call them one week and put £10 in and then 6 weeks later put another £10 in. they dont chase you, so you can do it in your own time.
Then once youve got the full amount youre done! I hope everything works out for you x
